Analysis Of Etiological Factors Of Recurrent Pneumonia In Children

Objective:To analyze the etiological factors and the characteristics of recurrent pneumonia(RP)under different etiology in hospitalized children with RP and to provide clinical reference for early detection about the causes of RP.Method:1.The clinical details of children with RP hospitalized in the Children's Medical Center of Hunan Provincial people's Hospital were reviewed.2.The age,gender,pneumonia frequency/year,clinical characteristics,blood routine,c-reactive protein,immune function(immunoglobulin neutrophil burst test,lymphocyte immune function),chest X ray/CT,cardiac ultrasound,fiberoptic bronchoscopy,gene examination were analyzed retrospectively.Results:1.There were 5109 cases of pneumonia hospitalized in our center from January 2017 to February 2018,of which 300 cases met the diagnostic criteria of recurrent pneumonia,accounting for 5.9%of the total;Of the children with RP,201 were males and 99 were females and the children under the age of three made up 71.1%of the total.2.Among the 300 children with RP,216 were relatively found the causes of RP and the proportion was 72%.The etiological factors were congenital heart disease 36 cases(12%),airway stenosis 25 cases(8.3%),airway malacia 22 cases(7.3%),airway foreign body 22 cases(7.3%),immune deficiency 21 cases(7.0%),tuberculosis 15 cases(5.0%),gastroesophageal reflux 14 cases(4.7%),bronchiolitis obliterans 11 cases(3.7%),airway tumor 10 cases(3.3%),vascular malformation 9 cases(3.0%),bronchopulmonary dysplasia 8 cases(2.7%),primary ciliary dyskinesia 6 cases(2.0%),Diffuse parenchymal lung disease 5 cases(1.7%),mediastinal tumor 4 cases(1.3%)pulmonary malformation 3 cases(1.0%),progressive muscular dystrophy 2 cases(0.7%),spinal muscular atrophy 2 cases(0.7%),osteolithiasis 1 case(0.3%).In addition,the etiology of 84(28.0%)cases were not clear.Conclusion:Most of the children with RP were found the etiological factors in this center.The main etiologies of RP were congenital heart disease,airway stenosis,airway malacia,airway foreign bodies and immunodeficiency.
