Objectives:Through the survey of caregiver stigma in dementia and its correlation with quality of life,to explore the current status of caregiver stigma in dementia and quality of life;Research the impact of general demographic information on caregiver stigma in dementia and quality of life;Analyze the correlation between caregiver stigma in dementia and quality of life;Base on the results,putting forward the corresponding intervention strategies to reduce the caregiver stigma in dementia and provide reference for improving the quality of life in dementia caregivers.Methods:We investigated 140 caregivers of dementia patients in 3-A general hospital in Changchun by the method of convenience sampling.A general demographic scale,a affiliate stigma scale and the 12-items short form health survey were included in the questionnaires.Epidata3.1 was used to establish the database and to record the data.The data were analyzed by SPSS23.0 statistical software.Data analysis included descriptive statistics,t-test,one-way analysis of variance,pearson correlation analysis and spearman correlation analysis,multiple stepwise regression analysis.Results:1.The total score of caregiver stigma in dementia was(48.36±6.40),the average scores of three dimensions including affective and behavior and cognitive were(2.55±0.52)?(1.99±0.46)?(2.09±0.55),the highest average score was affective dimension.The score of physical component summary in dementia caregiver was(45.35±7.38),the score of mental component summary in dementia caregiver was(45.78±5.35),lower than the domestic norm(P<0.01).2.The results of one-way analysis of variance showed that the differences of dementia caregiver stigma in caregiver gender,caregiver age,education,occupation,the relationship between caregiver and patient,family economic situation,years of caring,hours of caring per day,patient gender and disease severity had statistical significance(P<0.05).The differences of physical component summary in dementia in caregiver gender,caregiver age,education,occupation,the relationship between caregiver and patient,family economic situation,years of caring,hours of caring per day,patient gender and disease severity had statistical significance(P<0.05).The differences of mental component summary in dementia in caregiver gender,caregiver age,education,occupation,the relationship between caregiver and patient,medical insurance type,family economic situation,years of caring,hours of caring per day,patient gender,patient age and disease severity had statistical significance(P<0.05).3.Correlation analysis showed that the total score of caregiver stigma in dementia was negatively correlated to the score of physical component summary and the score of mental component summary in dementia caregiver.The score of affective and behavior dimensions were negatively correlated to the score of physical component summary.The score of affective and cognitive dimensions were negatively correlated to the score of mental component summary(P<0.01).4.In the multiple stepwise regression analysis of caregiver stigma in dementia,the relationship between caregiver and patient,caregiver gender,family economic situation were included in the regression equation.In the multiple stepwise regression analysis of physical component summary,the relationship between caregiver and patient,caregiver gender,the total score of caregiver stigma in dementia were included in the regression equation.In the multiple stepwise regression analysis of mental component summary,the relationship between caregiver and patient,hours of caring per day,occupation,the total score of caregiver stigma in dementia were included in the regression equation.Conclusions:1.The caregiver of dementia patients suffered from stigma,and the impact of caregiver stigma in dementia was more reflected in the affective dimension.2.The quality of life in dementia caregivers was lower than that of the normal.3.Caregiver gender,caregiver age,education,occupation,the relationship between caregiver and patient,family economic situation,years of caring,hours of caring per day,patient gender and disease severity had effect on caregiver stigma in dementia.4.Caregiver stigma in dementia was negatively correlated to the quality of life of the caregiver.By reducing the stigma of dementia caregivers,the caregivers' quality of life can be improved.
