Non-human primates and humans have a close relationship, their genetic material has high homology with humans, and many biological and behavioral characteristics are similar to humans. It is an ideal animal model for various diseases of human beings. In addition,non-human primates are preserved in major zoos in China and have become important animal species for attracting tourists. However, various diseases including parasitic diseases threat the health of these animals. The parasitic diseases can cause anaemia, emaciated of the animals, sometimes, even death. Most of the zoos and animal centre will treat the animals with anthelmintics in spring and autumn,so they always do not detect the parasites in summer. In this study, the intestinal parasite infections of these animals were investigated by collecting fecal samples from primates in zoos in various parts of Fujian Province and experimental animal research centers during June to October. And this study can provide data for the prevention and control of non-human primates parasitic diseases. Conclusion: Through investigation of 129 primates fecal samples in four cities,it was found that whipworm is the dominant species infecting these animals, the infection rate is 31%,the infection intensity is 1723,and the total infection rate of other nematodes is 20.2.%,the infection intensity is 1400,the coccidia infection rate isrelatively low, only 0.8%,and the infection intensity is 200.In the four cities surveyed,Nanping had the highest infection rate of 57.1% and Fuzhou had the lowest infection rate of 30.6%.Among the 17 kinds of non-human primates investigated, the infection rate of squirrel monkey and pig-tailed macaque was 100%,71.4% for hamadryas baboon,66.7%for francois' monkey, and 50% for snub-nosed monkey and patas monkey.Other animals have a low infection rate. From our results, there are high parasite infection rate of the animals in summer,so it is important to take some measures to prevent the infection of these parasites.
