China has been a large agricultural country since ancient times,but it is also a weak agricultural country with a large population,little water resources and less arable land.With the development of the society,traditional agriculture has became unable to adapt to the current needs.It is the development trend of agriculture in the future to introduce Internet of things technology into agricultural production and build smart agriculture.Gateway occupies a core position in the Internet of things,connecting sensors in the perception layer down and cloud platform through the transport layer up.Therefore,the development of a good performance,powerful Internet of things gateway is the most important.The STM32 microprocessor is widely used,powerful,stable and cost-effective.It is embedded with a variety of on-chip peripherals,such as serial port,ADC,I2C,etc.,which is very suitable for the processor as the gateway of agricultural Internet of things.The gateway needs to adapt to a variety of common sensor transmission protocols down,as well as to provide a variety of network access methods and network frequency support up.The integration of water and fertilizer is at the beginning stage in China,most of the equipment comes from Israel and other countries.The integration of water and fertilizer has many advantages such as saving water and fertilizer,avoiding environmental pollution caused by crude and excessive irrigation,saving manpower,high efficiency and convenience.This paper designs a new agricultural IoT gateway that can serve as the control center and information transfer hub of the integrated water and fertilizer system,collecting data and issuing control instructions through information transmission,and reporting current state parameters through communication with the cloud platform to achieve remote monitoring.The combination of Internet of things technology and water and fertilizer integration provides a new solution for the development of smart agriculture.
