Seed-used watermelon,also known as "dagua".China is the country with the largest seed area and seed yield in the world.The traditional processing of seed-used watermelon is limited to breaking and extracting seeds,and discarding the seed-used watermelon skin,flesh and juice in the field,which not only causes the waste of available resources but also brings a lot of environmental pollution.In recent years,with the improvement of environmental protection requirements and the rapid development of food processing technology,the development direction of the seed-used watermelon industry has changed from the traditional broken and seed extraction to comprehensive utilization,but the efficient separation of seed,flesh and seed has always been a difficult problem for the development of the seed-used watermelon industry.In order to meet the processing requirements of seed-used watermelon processing and production for the crushing,seeding and separation of seed-used watermelon,this paper carried out relevant experimental research on seed-used watermelon and the crushing and seeding separator.The specific research contents and main conclusions are as follows:(1)Taking the high-quality seed-used watermelon produced in jingyuan county,gansu province as the research object,the biological and crushing mechanical characteristics of the whole seed-used watermelon and its components were studied and analyzed,and the relevant parameters were determined;(2)A new type of seed crushing,extraction and separation prototype of seed-used watermelon was designed,which can be used in the full utilization processing production line of seed-used watermelon.(3)The process of seed-used watermelon breaking and flesh separation was studied theoretically.The theoretical model of seed-used watermelon breaking was established.Relevant parameters were measured and calculated through experiments.(4)The single factor experiment was carried out with feeding amount,crushing roller speed,peel flesh separation roller speed and seed flesh separation roller speed as experimental factors,and melon seed impurity rate,melon seed scratch rate,melon seed loss rate and peel flesh content rate as experimental indicators.The results showed that the suitable working parameters of the seed separation prototype for melon seed crushing were 25~30 kg/min,120~135 r/min,90~105 r/min,105~120 r/min,respectively.(5)On the basis of single factor experiment,according to Box-Benhnken experiment design principle,through the four factors three levels of response surface test of prototype work parameter optimization and analysis,the optimized parameters as follows: the feeding amount for 28 kg/min,broken roller speed of 128 r/min,skin flesh separation roller speed of 96 r/min,seed pulp separation roller to 110 r/min.The results showed that the productivity of the new model was up to 1.68t/h,the seed crushing rate <0.01%,the seed impurity rate <4%,the seed scratch rate <8%,the seed loss rate <2%,and the flesh content rate <6%.The prototype can realize the efficient crushing of seed-used watermelon and the separation of its skin,flesh and seeds efficiently and healthily.This article for seed-used watermelon mechanical characteristics,crushing theory,separation mechanism,and new type crushing seed separation prototype experimental study,could be used for seed-used watermelon for subsequent processing production line of high efficiency and low energy consumption of the broken seed separator provide theoretical basis for the design,at the same time can also be used for other melons crushing,discard seeds and separation equipment design and research to provide the reference.
