Ledu District of Haidong City is the main pepper producing area in Qinghai Province.The main cultivar is Leduchang pepper a local geographical indication agricultural product.However,pepper varieties for local production are usually reserved by farmers themselves.The inappropriate operation of seed reserve makes it easy to produce artificial or natural hybridization,which leads to the decline of seed quality,the degeneration of varieties and the gradual loss of germplasm characteristics,leading to the gradual loss of competitive advantage of LeduChang pepper in the local area.It has seriously hindered the development of local pepper industry.Therefore,it is very important to select new pepper varieties suitable for local solar greenhouse cultivation to improve the yield and quality of local pepper,increase the economic income of pepper farmers,and enhance the pepper cultivation technology system.In order to screen new pepper varieties suitable for early spring cultivation in Solar Greenhouse in Qinghai,we collected and introduced 16 pepper varieties from different regions at home and abroad: Lanzhou No.2,Lanzhou No.5,Lanzhou No.6,Lanzhou No.7,Lanzhou No.10,Biluo No.6,Tianluo,Hangjiao No.18,Bolon R2 F1,Jinjiao No.6,Jinjiao No.8,Jinjiao No.9,Jinjiao No.12,Minxin Zaojiao and Leduchang pepper,Mianshu screw pepper.Through the analysis of Agronomic characters,yield and nutritional quality of Different Pepper varieties,the new pepper varieties suitable for local popularization and cultivation were selected by principal component analysis.In terms of yield,pepper varieties `Lanzhou No.5',`Bolon R2 F1',`Jinjiao No.6',`Jinjiao No.9',`Tianluo',`Jinjiao No.12'had higher yields.In terms of nutritional quality,pepper varieties `Mian vegetable screw pepper',`Lanzhou New No.7',`LeduChang pepper',`Jinjiao No.8',`Lanzhou New No.7' performed well.In terms of comprehensive characteristics,the better pepper varieties are Lanzhou New 7,'Tianluo','Mianshu screw pepper','Jin pepper 12'.
