Performance Determination And Study On Dietary Crude Protein Level Of Chengde White Goose

With the largest number of geese in the world,China has a long history of raising geese.Chengde White Goose is an excellent local goose breed resource in China.In this experiment,the egg quality,body size index and slaughter performance of adult Chengde white goose were preliminarily determined.The body size index,slaughter performance,organ index and goose meat routine index of Chengde white goose at different weeks of age have been studied and,moreover,the effects of dietary crude protein level on body size,slaughter performance,organ index,routine index of goose meat and serum biochemical index of Chengde white geese aged 5-8 weeks have been also studied in order to provide some basic research data for the development and utilization of Chengde white geese in the future.Exp 1 Study on Performance Measurement and Relevance of Chengde White Goose at Different Growth StagesIn the test,50 species of goose eggs were randomly selected to determine the egg quality.180 healthy one-day-old Chengde white geese with similar body weight were randomly selected for rearing.In the 3,6 and 10 week old Chengde white geese,12(half male and female)were selected respectively and 40 healthy adult Chengde white geese(half male and female)were selected to measure body size and slaughter test.The results indicated that the adult Chengde white goose had an egg weight of126.62 g,an eggshell index of 1.46,a huff unit of 68.87,an egg yolk weight,protein weight and eggshell weight of 51.81 g,57.94 g and 16.88 g,respectively;The slaughter rates of Chengde white goose in 3 weeks,6 weeks,10 weeks and adult stages were about 85.76%,84.44%,90.92% and 88.66% respectively;most of the indicators of Chengde white goose were significantly or extremely significantly related.With the growth of Chengde white goose,the body size index increased significantly.The slaughter performance of Chengde white goose in adult stage was better than that of 3,6 and 10 weeks old.The body size index and slaughter performance of Chengde white goose in the same growth stage were higher than those of female goose.The organ index and the conventional nutrient content ofgoose meat of 6-week-old Chengde white goose were higher than those of 3 weeks old,10 weeks old and adult.At the same growth stage,there was no significant difference in organ index and nutrient content of goose meat between male and female Chengde white goose.Exp 2 Study on The crude protein Level of Chengde White Goose in 5-8 Weeks Old180 healthy 4-week-old Chengde white geese(half male and female)with similar body weight were randomly selected and divided into 3 treatment groups,each treatment containing 5 replicates,each containing 12 geese(mother and female half).Each group was fed with 14%,16%,and 18% crude protein,respectively,and the other three nutritional indicators were basically the same.The results showed that the body size index,slaughter performance and conventional composition of goose meat of Chengde white geese with the 18% crude protein group were higher than16% and 14% crude protein group,and these indicators of Chengde white goose male goose at 5-8 weeks of age in each crude protein group were higher than female geese.Different crude protein levels had little effect on the organ index of Chengde white goose at 5-8 weeks old.The same crude protein level had little difference in organ index of male and female goose.The serum total protein,globulin,triglyceride,uric acid,glucose and glutamic oxalate transaminase of Chengde white goose in 18%crude protein group were higher than those in 16% and 14% crude protein groups,while serum albumin,cholesterol,glutamic alanine transaminase and alkaline phosphatase were lower than those in 16% and 14% crude protein groups.In conclusion,the egg weight,shell index and Huff unit of adult Chengde white geese were 126.62 g,1.46 and 68.87,respectively.The body size and slaughter performance of adult Chengde white geese were better than those of 3,6 and 10 weeks old.The carcass composition and growth status of 5-8 weeks old Chengde white geese were more ideal when the crude protein content was 18%.
