In recent years, due to the high nutritional value and unique taste flavor, the pecangradually recognized by consumers, and has become a popular high-end nut. However, thecracking work of pecan in most of the enterprises are completed rely on manual work, whichis not only inefficient, but also labor-intensive and high processing costs. This paper isfocusing on cracking pecans and taking the kernel, in order to improve the efficiency andyield of pecan production and processing, which is of great significance to improve theincome of farmers and promote rural economic development.Contents of this paper are divided into three parts: First, doing some research about themechanical characteristics of the pecan and the state of motion of the broken shell in the gasstream. Second, designing program of impacted pecan shell-breaking machine, andestablishing the3D prototype model. Third, finite element analyses of key components.Firstly, study and analysis the mechanism of cracking nuts and traditional processing ofwalnut, and then selecting shell breaking way: hitting style. Presents a striking style pecanshell-breaking machine program, the aircraft struck the pecans intermittently, using a hammerand the groove to form a shell-breaking work area, in the area the shell of pecans are strokedbroken. This paper describes the structure and working principle of pecan shell-breakingmachine, adding pecans though the hopper at the top of the machine, because of their owngravity and guiding from the hopper, pecans slip into Grading drum with a tilt angle from theoutlet of the hopper, and rotating with the rotation of the Grading drum to complete theclassification. After classification, the pecans slip into the hitting device due to gravity andguided catheter, shells-broken hammer compressed spring under the action of the cam, andlaunched pecans when released. Pecans run into the hopper, loose the connection between thekernel and shell. Subsequently, the broken shell hammer hit on pecan in the hopper,completes the broken shell of pecan, change the extrusion shell breaking work area size tomake it adapt to different sizes of pecans.Using Pro/E powerful modeling capabilities, three-dimensional model of broken shellpecan machine was constructed. Pro/E provides "component-design" function, which candefine the relative positions and the movement between the various components to complete the assembly of the prototype. Make the finite element analysis of key components andprototypes to identify their stress concentration, for further optimization.
