This research was conducted to study the effects of four additives(betaine, chitosan oligosaccharide,L-carnitine and ferulic acid)on growth performance, slaughter performance, tissue and organ development, fat deposition and serology of Mongolian hybrid sheep. It was studied by means of feeding test, slaughter test and digestion and metabolism test system,so as to provide theoretical basis for the application. The present study covered three trails as follows: Experiment 1: Effects of different additives on growth performance, slaughter performance and organ index of Mongolian hybrid sheepThe test was designed by a single factor test.Four hundred and fifty Mongolian hybrid sheep(28.85±0.31 kg of bodyweight)were randomly divided into 5 groups: control group(CON),betaine(BN)group, chitosan oligosaccharide(COS)group.L-carnitine(L-CN)group and ferulic acid(FA)group with 3 replicates per group, and 30 replicates per group. The experiment lasted for 60 days, the feed intake was recorded once every 3 days, and the weight was weighed once every 20 days. When the formal period was 40 days and 60 days,5 sheep were slaughtered in each treatment, and the slaughter performance, tissue and organ development were measured. The results showed that: 1)There was no significant difference in daily gain, feed intake and feed conversion efficiency between con group and additive groups(P>0.05).2)There was no significant difference in the live weight, carcass weight, slaughter rate, eye area and GR value between the control group and the additive groups(P>0.05).However,the area of eye muscle increased and the value of GR decreased in the additive group compared with CON.3)The weight of heart and the proportion of live weight before slaughter in FA group were significantly lower than that in COS group,CON group and L-CN group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the weight of other organs and the proportion of live weight before slaughter(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in organ weight and proportion of live weight before slaughter among these groups at later stage(P>0.05).4)There was no significant difference in the weight of digestive organs and the proportion of live weight before slaughter(P>0.05).The results showed that the additives had little effect on growth performance and slaughter performance of Mongolian hybrid sheep.Although FA had effect on the weight of cardiac in early stage, there was no significant difference between FA group and CON group in later stage. The results showed that the effect of additives on the development of digestive organs of Mongolian hybrid sheep occurred in early stage.Experiment 2: Effects of different additives on digestibility of nutrients in Mongolian hybrid SheepThis experiment was conducted to study the effects of four additives on the digestion and metabolism of nutrients in Mongolia hybrid sheep. On the thirtieth day of experiment, four Mongolia hybrid sheep were randomly selected for digestion and metabolism test. The experiment lasted for 10 days including 5 days of adaption period. The results showed that Digestibility of CP in BN group and FA group was significantly higher than that in CON group(P<0.05);Apparent digestibility of DM,GE,NDF,ADF and OM was no significantly difference between CON group and additive groups(P>0.05).Experiment 3: Effects of different additives on Fat deposition and related serological Indexes of Mongolian hybrid SheepExperimental animals and slaughtering experiments were treated with the same trial 1.Rumen fat, intestinal fat, pericardial fat, perirenal fat, tail fat were removed and weighed. The jugular vein blood was collected before slaughter and the contents of TC,TG,HDL,LDL,ADPN,LEP,and INS were measured. The results showed that: 1)The proportion of tail fat to total fat in CON group was significantly higher than that in BN group(P<0.05).The total fat weight of CON and its percentage in premortem weight were higher than those in additive groups(P<0.05).There was no significant difference between the other parts of the additive group and CON group in fat weight and the proportion of fat weight to total fat weight and live weight before slaughter(P>0.05).The ratio of rumen fat weight to total fat weight in BN group and COS group were significantly higher than that in CON group and FA group in the later stage,(P<0.05).The tail fat weight in CON group was significantly higher than that in BN group,COS group,L-CN group(P<0.05).The ratio of tail fat weight to total fat weight of CON group and FA group was significantly higher than that in BN group and COS group(P<0.05).The percentage of tail fat to live weight in CON group was significantly higher than that in four additive groups. The total fat weight and its proportion to premortem live weight in CON group were significantly higher than those in BN group,COS group and L-CN group(P<0.05).2)Serological index in early stage: The TC content in CON group and L-CN group was higher than that in BN group and COS group(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between other groups(P>0.05).The content of HDL in CON group and L-CN group was significantly higher than that in BN group and COS group(P<0.01),but there was no significant difference between other groups(P>0.05);CON group was significantly higher than BN group,COS group(P<0.01).The content of LEP and INS in CON group was significantly lower than that in BN group and COS group(P<0.01).Serological index in later stage: the contents of TC,TG,HDL,LDL,LEP and INS in CON group were higher than those in additive groups, and ADPN content in CON group was lower than that in additive groups. In general, the additive used in this experiment had no significant effect on the growth performance and slaughter performance of Mongolian crossbred sheep. The effects on organ development mainly occurred in early stage. All additives in the experiment could reduce the body fat content of Mongolian hybrid sheep in varying degrees, and this effect could be reflected by the serum index and serum hormone level. The results also showed that the the digestibility of crude protein in different additive group was different.
