| The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of water soluble extracts from Allium Mongolicum regel on performance and intestinal health.By single factor completely randomized block design,a total of 36 small tail Han ram sheep with similar body weight(34±3.5 kg)and 6-month-old were randomly assigned to 3 groups with 12 sheep each.Sheep were fed basal diet(control group),basal diet supplemented with 0.1%water soluble extract(water soluble extract group)and basal diet supplemented with Allium Mongolicum regel(Allium Mongolicum regel group). The trial period lasted for 75d,which included 15d of pre-feeding period and 60d of the normal period.Feed intake was recorded every day and the sheep were weighted on 1st 15th 30th 45th 60th day of the normal period before the morning feeding so that the dada could be used for average daily gain(ADG),average daily feed intake(ADFI)and body feed/weight intake. At the end of the normal period, six sheep were randomly selected from each group and slaughtered to immediately collect the duodenum, jejunum and ileum.Subsequently,it took 3cm tissue from each of them to detect the relative expression levels of sBD-1 and sBD-2 genes;it took 2cm to detect the length of intestinal Villus and depth of intestinal crypt, and took 8cm to detect the immunoglobulin of their intestinal mucosa. From Od to 15th day,no significant difference was detected among the groups on the production performance(P>0.05),however,water soluble extract group on feed/weight was significantly lower from 15th day than the control group(P<0.05)and the ADFI significantly higher from the 30th day(P<0.05).Allium Mogolicum regel group on ADG from.45th day began to significantly higher than the control group, while the feed/weight was also began to significantly lower. In terms of the length of intestinal Villus:①at the duodenum part, the length of both the experimental groups were increased significantly(P<0.05)②At the jejunum part, the length were increased, where water soluble group significantly higher than the other two groups, but the other two groups were not significantly different. The relative expression levels of sBD-1 of duodenum decreased at water soluble extract and Allium Mongolicum group but not significant lower than the control group(P>0.05),whereas the relative expression of sBD-1 of jejunum and ileum was significantly higher than the control group(P<0.05);expression levels of sBD-2 of duodenum jejunum(P<0.05)at the two groups was significantly higher than the control group, where the water soluble extract group was higher than the Allium Mongolicum group(P<0.05);expression levels of sBD-2 of ileum at Allium Mongolicum group was significantly higher than the other two groups, where the groups were not significantly different(P>0.05).At the duodenum part, relative to the control group:①the amount of IgA.、IgG at both the experimental groups were significantly increased(P<0.05),in which the experimental two groups were not significantly different②the amount of IgM of the water soluble group significantly higher than the other two groups(P<0.05),but Allium Mongolicum group was not significantly different from the control group. At the jejunum part, relative to the control group:①the amount of IgA at both the experimental groups was increased but not significantly ②the amount of IgM was increased at both the experimental groups,in which the water soluble group was significantly higher than the other two groups(P<0.05).③ the amount of IgG was increased at both the experimental groups,in which Allium Mongolicum group was significantly higher than the other groups(P<0.05).At the ileum part, relative to the control group:①the amount of IgA at both the experimental groups was increased but not significantly②the amount of IgM was increased at both the experimental groups,in which the Allium Mongolicum group was significantly higher than the other two groups(P<0.05).③ the amount of IgG was increased at both the experimental groups(P<0.05). |
