Diagnosis And Treatment Of Fatty Liver In Cats

Fatty liver of cats is one of the common diseases in cat liver diseases.Because the symptoms of this disease are not obvious in the early stage,pet owners are apt to overlook it and thus miss the best treatment period.Therefore,understanding the clinical features,diagnosis methods and treatment measures of fatty liver in cats can diagnose the disease as early as possible and improve the cure rate.This article summarizes the medical history investigation,clinical examination,laboratory examination,imaging examination and treatment results of cats with fatty liver collected in the clinical practice process,so as to provide references for the diagnosis and treatment of fatty liver in cats.The clinical examination of 22 fatty liver cats collected during this internship showed that most of them were obese cats,and the incidence rate caused by stress was relatively high.Clinical manifestations usually include depression,even lethargy,vomiting,dehydration,jaundice,liver tenderness and weight loss.However,laboratory and imaging examinations showed that the cats suffered from different degrees of RBC decrease?ALKP?AST?ALT?TBIL increase in different degrees,GGT slightly increases or does not change,and it will also cause the decrease of blood sodium,potassium,chlorine and blood ph value.Diffuse echo enhancement can be seen in B ultrasound liver scan.Treatment was carried out according to the principles of correcting body fluid and electrolyte imbalance,stopping vomiting,actively carrying out nasal feeding of high protein,medium fat and low carbohydrate ration,and at the same time supplementing SAME,silybum marianum,various vitamins and essential amino acids,protecting liver and removing jaundice.After treatment,20 patients recovered and 2 died.One patient died after 3 days of ineffective treatment for primary diabetes.One patient died of secondary hepatic encephalopathy after 7 days of treatment.The results showed that the onset of fatty liver in cats has a certain age,variety and sex tendency.Medical history investigation and clinical examination showed that obese cats had stress symptoms,vomiting,anorexia,weight loss,and the possibility of fatty liver disease was considered when jaundice and liver pain occurred.Further confirmed by laboratory examination,imaging examination,etc.The clinical symptoms of fatty liver in cats can be relieved or disappeared within 10-20 days by actively correcting the imbalance of body fluid and electrolyte,controlling vomiting,nasal feeding the diet that meets the needs of cats,supplementing various essential amino acids and vitamins,and using hepatocyte growth promoting hormone to promote hepatocyte growth as soon as possible while using Yinzhihuang acid combined with ursodeoxycholic tablets to eliminate jaundice and other treatment schemes.The cure rate is 90.91 %.
