Planting tree or small plants can be helpful to fight and decline global warming effect.Apart from this they are very advantageous for living things as they are nature's first air purifier but because of tough schedule people often fail to remember watering their plants,especially some rare species,which in turn cause them to die.Automation for watering plant is essential for regulation of water,as demand for water increases thus an intelligent watering plant system based on microfluidic valve is presented in this master's project thesis.This project aims to implement a watering system based on the water demand of plants with minimal human intervention.The des igned system is based on microfluidic valve to provide precise amount of water with controlled rate of flow.This paper work contains the description of “intelligent watering system” that uses microcontroller as controlling unit for the whole system.At wh ich time watering for the plants should be started? The data by sensing unit are based on the soil moisture measurement.The intelligent watering system will report current state of plant and will allow to control and monitor watering plant system through smart mobile via WI-FI.The designed system overcomes the problem of water wastage that is caused by manual watering and can control the amount of water that the plant will need when the weather changes or the plant grows up.The implementation of microval ve for this watering system is center of attraction which is driven by 2-phase bipolar stepper motor with slider and is placed down to microfluidic chip which can provide the possibility for miniaturization and integration of the system.This work also pre sents the mathematical modeling of the constructed microvalve structure.Different opening of microvalve are simulated by using fluent software.The difference of fluid flow within microchannel at different valve openings is analyzed.The relation between flow rate of micro valve,pressure and opening of valve opening is explored.Additionally,the effect of different opening on the flow of microfluidic chip and the relationship between volume flow rate and pressure is simulated.The response of system comp onents based on moisture content is explained with detailed description.The experimental work of system and the flow rate at different valve opening is analyzed.The model is supported by mathematical modeling and simulation graphs also.The soil moisture content level varying with time at different opening of valve is explored.To make system smart and intelligent,automatic control unit is implemented by the use of smart phone for monitoring and controlling the system.
