The efficiency of maize breeding could be greatly improved by haploid technique,which could get the pure line in very short time.But the low haploid induction rate was the main bottleneck of haploid technique at present.Therefore,it was of great significance to promote the haploid induction rate which will accelerate the application of haploid technique in fresh corn breeding.In the studied,different genotypes of fresh corn(including common sweet corn,super sweet corn,sugary enhanced corn,and waxy corn),a total of 15 materials as female and four different inducers as male were selected,the crosses were made during different pollination period in Jing Hong winter and Kunming summer respectively,and the induced haploid offspring were statistical analyzed,finally try to reveal the influence of different genetic background,different inducer genes,different ecological locations and different pollination period on haploid induction rate.The main results were as follows:(1)Influence of different ecological locations on haploid induction rateIn this studied,the haploid induction rate shows significant difference between Jing Hong winter and Kunming summer,the average haploid induction rate in Kunming summer(8.15%)was significantly higher than that of in Jing Hong winter(6.99%),which indicates that different ecological location had significant impact on haploid induction rate.(2)Influence of different maternal genotypes and different inducers on haploid induction rateThe results show that different maternal genotypes and different inducers had significant effects on haploid induction rate.Under different ecological locations,the haploid induction rate of same maternal material was different,same to inducer and crosses.In the same ecological location,there were significant differences in the induction rate among different maternal materials,as well as different inducers and different crosses.The average induction rates of 15 maternal materials are among of 0.18%-15.50% in Jing Hong winter,among them maternal 2 was the highest and maternal 1 and 12 were the lowest.The haploid induction rate of inducer 2(8.75%)and 1(8.67%)were significantly higher than that of inducer 3(5.61%)and 4(4.93%).In the summer of Kunming,the average induction rates of 15 maternal materials were among 1.47%-14.4%,maternal 13 was the highest and maternal 1 was the lowest.The haploid induction rate of inducer 1(10.94%)and 2(10.62%)were significantly higher than that of inducer 3(6.33%)and 4(4.73%).(3)Influence of different pollination periods on haploid induction rateIn this studied,the haploid induction rate among different pollination periods reach highly significantly difference,the haploid induction rate of pollination within 7 days after silk was significantly higher than that of 8-10 days after silk.Therefore,different pollination periods have important influence on haploid induction rate,and the haploid induction rate of early pollination was significantly higher than that of late pollination.To sum up,different genetic background,inducer genes,ecological locations and pollination periods have important influence on the haploid induction,the haploid induction efficiency in Kunming summer was significantly higher than that of in Jing Hong winter,pollination during early stage was significantly higher than that of in late stage,inducers 1 and 2 was significantly higher than that of inducers 3 and 4.
