Sugarcane,one of the high-efficiency C4 plants,is not onlya main sugar crop,but also as aLivestock forage reserve of good grass.In this study,24 families were prepared by matching the sugarcane parents with spontaneum E.arundinaceus genetic background or parts of the E.arundinaceusgenetic background.The breeding value and families performance were evaluated by using the R software package.The AHP analysis of the yield traits and nutritional value of the 4 linesin different months was conducted to evaluate and select the elite forage sugarcane lines.The main results are as follows:The variance analysis forthe 8 traits of the 24 families show that:the 8 traits between the random pairs of families and parents reached significant difference or extremely significant difference except the neutral fiber score in male parents.For the broad heritability,the highest value was 69.28%for Biomass production,followed was 68.2%for crude protein content,and the lowest was 51.26%for neutral detergent fiber content.The analysis of the genetic and breeding value of the parents and families displayedthat Yunzhe03-103,Zhanzhe92-126,CP72-1312 and Yunzhe06-267had better performances than othersin the female parents;Yacheng05-164,Yunrui05-367,Yunrui05-790 and Yacheng05-64 had better performances than othersin the male parents.In the family,Guitang05-3595 × Yacheng04-55,Yacheng07-71 × HoCP01-517 and CP72-1312× Yunrui 05-790 were higher in plant height,stem diameter,effective stem,Biomass production,neutral detergent fiber content,acid detergent fiber content,ash content and crude protein score than other combinations.These lines,all containedthe spontaneum E.arundinaceus or the E.arundinaceusblood should be focus on more selection and evaluation in the future.The results of the strains test of 4forage sugarcane showed that:the crude protein content in each month had a good performance in Funongll-2819 and Funong11-24415.Neutral detergent fiber and acid detergent fiber content were differed significantly only during august in Funong 11601.The ash content of the four strains was quite different in all stage.The results of the multiple comparison analysis of the nutrient content during the months showed that the nutrition quality performance of Funongll-2819 was best in August.The best stage for optimum nutrition quality of Funong11-24415 and Funong13-3201 was March.The best stage for all nutritional quality of Funong11601 wasjune.Through the AHP analysis,we found the optimal forage sugarcane strain is Funongl3-3201 in March,Funongl 1601in June,andFunong 11-2819 in August.
