The Demonstrative Characteristics Of Suzhou Gardens And Its Application In Museum Space

As a landscape space,Suzhou gardens have unique spatial structure characteristics and landscape layout principles.This is the key to distinguish them from other regional gardens.In order to solve the problem of how Suzhou gardens show us the uniqueness of their own space,this paper puts forward the concept of " Demonstrative Characteristics " of Suzhou gardens.First,the demonstrative characteristics of Suzhou gardens are objective spatial features that can be refined.These objective characteristics have become the design standards for the construction and renovation of gardens in ancient and modern times.Through the on-the-spot investigation of several representative gardens in Suzhou,this paper summarizes three objective characteristics of Suzhou Gardens: the intensity of the landscape combination,the contrast method and the diversity of the walking path.Secondly,the demonstrative characteristics of Suzhou gardens include the interactive relationship between Suzhou gardens and the visitors in it.Therefore,the third chapter launches the research on the main body of landscape display,and reveals the experience of people watching and experiencing the garden space with two dimensions of meditation and movement.There are pavilions and pavilions in Suzhou Garden suitable for quiet gaze,guiding visitors to observe here.But the process of people visiting gardens is mainly a dynamic tour process,because the demonstrative characteristics of Suzhou gardens show a kind of space traction,which will hint and induce the visitors to move forward in a specific direction.In the process of dynamic viewing,people’s walking path and visual path are separated.Thus,two sets of intuitive systems of visual experience and body experience form the unique ornamental experience of Suzhou gardens.In the fourth chapter,the research on the demonstrative characteristics of Suzhou gardens will turn from spatial analysis to image analysis.Viewing the process of landscape painting hand scroll or album is very similar to watching the dynamic tour process of garden architecture space.Both of them adopt the view of "mobile viewpoint".The view of "mobile viewpoint" proposed by the "three distant method" in traditional Chinese painting theory is not only suitable for viewing three-dimensional garden architectural space and 2-dimensional garden painting space,but also for analyzing the imaginary garden space depicted in the landscape description of pictorial drawings.So far,the demonstrative characteristics of Suzhou gardens are no longer the spatial characteristics that have been summed up.It also presents the way of viewing the subject in the space.Finally,as a landscape space,the development of Suzhou gardens has extended to the level of curatorial space.As a tourist attraction,Suzhou gardens and modern museums are all facing the public display space,but they show different space-time order.This paper first makes a comparative study of the spatial narrative characteristics of the two,and takes Suzhou Museum as an example.This paper discusses how to draw lessons from landscape layout and spatial narration from the demonstrative characteristics of Suzhou gardens,and to create a more regional and National Museum curatorial space.
