From the 20 th century to the 21 st century,with the rapid development of China's economy,both social wealth and people's living standards have been greatly improved.The society has gradually changed from the ideal of production to the ideal of life.When people's material needs are met to a certain extent,people begin to pay attention to the spiritual needs,of which tourism and vacation are the most spiritual pastime people pursue From another perspective,this transformation also directly promotes the development of tourism.With the rapid development of tourism in recent years,the construction of accommodation facilities in scenic spots has also been promoted.At the same time,people put forward new demands for tourism in this process,from the original "sightseeing tourism" to the "cultural experience tourism".As an extension of accommodation facilities,its function and form are quietly starting to develop and change,starting to pay attention to the embodiment of regional culture to meet people's needs,which to a certain extent promotes the transformation of sand The rise of homestay in Xi ancient town.Both the traditional residence and the homestay have the function of inheriting the regional culture,they are carriers in a certain sense,and the economic attribute of the homestay has injected power into the sustainability of the traditional residence,to a certain extent,it provides the most original basis for the transformation of the two.Although Shaxi ancient town is rich in traditional residential resources,due to the lack of relevant theoretical research and the lack of scientific methods and systematic design system guidance,in the process of transforming traditional residential buildings into residential buildings,both the participation of foreign capital and local residents have led to many problems in the design process of transforming traditional residential buildings into residential buildings It even brings irreversible damage to the traditional houses,so it is of great significance to the research and design practice of the transformation of Shaxi ancient town traditional houses into houses.The first half of the paper(Chapter one to chapter three)starts from the background of the topic selection,the basic concepts of traditional houses and houses in Shaxi ancient town,and the current situation of domestic tourism and houses development.Based on the analysis of the current situation and trends of the research in the field of homestay at home and abroad,and the current situation of Shaxi ancient town's human environment,traditional residence and existing homestay,this paper summarizes the relevant theories of the transformation of traditional residence into homestay and the lack of Shaxi ancient town in the design of the transformation of homestay,which provides the theoretical basis for the design principles of the transformation of traditional residence into homestay.The second half of the paper(Chapter four to chapter six)summarizes the experience and problems in the process of transforming traditional houses into houses through the analysis of some typical cases at home and abroad,and puts forward five design principles and Strategies of integrating regional culture into the design of Shaxi ancient town houses based on the regional characteristics.On this basis,the relevant design practice is carried out.Starting from three aspects of architectural modeling and space design,interior design and courtyard design,the design principles and strategies referred to in the process of transformation design are demonstrated through practical examples,so as to provide methodology for the design practice of transforming Shaxi ancient town's traditional residential buildings into residential buildings.
