China's traditional villages are numerous and widely distributed, showing rich and colorful regional characteristics.Traditional villages are influenced by the natural environment and social and cultural environment in various regions, forming their own unique space environment. However, with the acceleration of urbanization and new rural construction in China, the regional characteristics of traditional village space environment are gradually fading or even disappearing. To solve this problem,Chinese scholars have done a lot of research and protection work on traditional villages from different angles, such as the perspective of local dwellings, the perspective of historical archaeology, the perspective of ecological protection, and so on,while there is little research on traditional villages from the perspective of psychology.Traditional villages and people are interdependent. The protection of traditional villages cannot ignore the research from the perspective of people. However,at present, there is little research on traditional villages from the perspective of human psychology in our country.Based on this background, from the perspective of gestalt psychology, this paper uses holism, homotypism,"heart field" and "map-base relationship" to interpret the spatial environment of traditional villages in a region, analyzes the spatial environment of traditional villages from the perspective of gestalt psychology, sums up the overall characteristics and current problems of the spatial environment of traditional villages in a region, and puts forward corresponding strategies for optimizing the spatial environment.at the same time, this strategy is applied to design practice to meet the needs of traditional village protection and cultural inheritance.Based on Gestalt psychology theory, this paper takes 15 traditional villages in Jingxing County,Shijiazhuang City,Hebei Province as the research objects. The research methods include literature research, field research, comparative analysis, induction and summary. This paper first sorts out the relevant research contents on the protection of traditional villages and Gestalt psychology at home and abroad, and then analyzes the application methods of the integrity of traditional village space environment, the heart field and the relationship between map and background under Gestalt psychology.Secondly,Gestalt psychology is used to analyze and interpret the spatial environment of traditional villages in Jingxing region,to excavate the overallcharacteristics of the spatial environment of traditional villages in the region, and to summarize the current situation and existing problems of the spatial environment of traditional villages. Finally, according to the previous research results, this paper puts forward some strategies for optimizing the spatial environment of traditional villages in Jingxing area.Taking Sunzhuang village as an example, according to the specific spatial environment characteristics and current environmental situation in the village, combined with the optimization strategy of traditional village spatial environment in Jingxing area, the village buildings, streets and nodes were optimized respectively. The research results of this paper make up for the deficiency of the theoretical research on the protection and development of traditional villages in Jingxing area.At the same time,it creatively uses Gestalt psychology to interpret traditional villages in Jingxing area and puts forward optimization strategies, which expands the research approach of traditional villages in Jingxing area and has practical guiding significance for the protection and development of local traditional villages.
