Changsha is the first batch of historical and cultural cities announced by the State Council. On the basis of the completion of the protection system of historic cities, the city planning bureau is trying to find a perfect combination of the protection, repair and development of historic blocks, and to deeply excavate the essence of Changsha's history and culture,to demonstrate Changsha's unique regional culture and to create Changsha. The way to protect the name card of a famous historical and cultural city is "historical trail".Based on the fact that three historic blocks and five historic areas covered by Changsha historical footpath demonstration line are interlaced with the high-rise buildings in modern residential and commercial areas, showing the status quo of fragmentation and isolation.Through the investigation and analysis of practical cases of other urban historical footpaths, this paper puts forward the theory of "weaving" to solve the status quo of historical and modern interlacing. The specific hand rule is to "weave" the old and new cities in the historical trail from three aspects of context, texture and function: the strategy of context "weaving" is to use the technique of narrative layering to interweave the context of historical and cultural layer, behavioral and cultural layer and social life layer;the strategy of texture "weaving" is to use the technique of mosaic expansion to explore from the constituent elements of texture The strategy of new and old texture stitching and the strategy of functional "patching" is to use the method of compound freedom to make up the function of historical footpath. From the perspective of "weaving" context, texture and function, this paper studies the theory of small-scale and gradual "weaving" city,in order to sum up a series of urban design methods suitable for the historical footpath of Changsha,so as to guide the historical district of Changsha to maintain its own characteristics and move towards the all-round and multi-level protection of culture, material and society The road to development.
