The research and development of new products is complex and uncertain.It is a high-risk investment activity for the company.The market demand for the timeliness of the research and development of new products aggravates the risk of the research and development of new products.As a high-tech enterprise in smart meter industry,H company is committed to providing overall solutions for the sustainable development of global distribution and power supply.After decades of development,the company currently has more than 700 R&D technical engineers,with footprints on five continents,especially smart meters as the company's core products,is the top priority of annual R&D work.With the continuous growth of the company's scale and the continuous expansion of the market and product line,the original R&D system has been unable to adapt to the development of the company,the R&D efficiency is low,the interdepartmental chatter is constant,and production abnormalities are constantly highlighted.If the above problems can not be solved in time,it will seriously affect the long-term development of the company.Based on the theory of integrated product development(IPD),this paper analyses the current situation of R&D system of H Company,reveals the problems existing in the current process of new product development,takes the seven key elements of IPD as the core framework,introduces the concepts of product cross-departmental team,market management,process reorganization and product reorganization,combs out the concept of focusing on customer needs,and puts this kind of view on customer needs.A new R&D system with fast and low-cost technology and skills is needed.Through the optimization design of R&D system,we can further standardize the R&D of H company's smart meters and improve the efficiency of the company's new product development.This study has important practical significance.
