| In the context of the international construction projects,these two main project participants come from different cultural backgrounds and have widely differing understanding to the project construction performance.If there is a new dispute arising,it will need the both parties’ experts,arbitral tribunal or court to do the targeted analysis,which would take long time and much money(explicit costs),let alone the damage for the future cooperation between the parties(hidden costs).The disputes of the international construction project are nothing more than the game between the engineering company and the owner for the schedule and cost,which often appear in the form of cases,the textual narratives.Compared with quantitative data,they are inherently subjective and incomplete,and empirical research are often adopted in case studies.Currently,many companies have many dispute problems with similar solution and result characteristics in various historical projects.Unfortunately,these cases have not been used in an effective manner and none database have been established,to enable quick retrieval and share knowledge.Thus,this become one of the constraint problems to reduce the cost of construction project dispute settlement and promote the rapid growth of enterprises.In the concrete research,based on the Theory of the Growth of the Firm and Kolb’s Experiential Learning Cycle Theory,this thesis establishes the research model of “Excavating internal resources of an enterprise-Learning experience and practice-Enterprise growth”.Secondly,Case Based Reasoning model is applied to this study: through the methods of literature review and expert interview,the dispute causes and two groups of project characteristics were identified in the context of international construction project,and various subitems within the factors are also identified.Thirdly,use Analytic Hierarchy Process to analyze the weight of the importance of various subitems between different project characteristics,indicating the different degree of influence of the factors on the outcome of the dispute resolution;use Gray Correlation Analysis to analyze the similarity between various subitems within a project characteristic,indicating the overall similarity between different projects.Finally,this thesis builds a case database containing 101 valid cases through company’s internal resource analysis.Use experimental method to implement fitting analysis of the target case,and 8 similar cases which have the same dispute reason were selected;and in the project characteristic analysis phase,just one case remained.Finally,we conclude that the case with the highest mathematical similarity and the target case can learn from each other in the problem description and solution decision,and this is consistent with the basic assumptions of this thesis. |
