The Research Of Conservation And Revitalization Of Endangered Traditional Villages In Yuanling County

With urbanizat ion process accelerating,a large number of tradit ional villages present a situation of unbalanced development owing to the differences in geographical location,traffic condit ions,econo mic development and conservat ion concept.Conservation of those tradit ional villages has been given enough attent ion,and the author participated in the fourth survey of traditional Chinese villages and found that some of traditional villages are in jeopardy.Therefore,studying among endangered degree evaluat ion system and further analyzing conservat ion and revitalizat ion strategy of tradit ional villages is fairly significant and valuable theoret ically and academically for salvaging endangered historic heritage.Takes endangered traditional villages located in Yuanling,Hunan,China as a case study,and focus on evaluat ing the degree of endangered status and providing conservat ion and revitalizat ion strategy.Analyt ic Hierarchy Process(AHP),Delphi method and fuzzy evaluation was applied to establish q uant itative endangered degree system of endangered traditional villages.A comprehensive analysis of villages' distribut ion and characteristics,and use the endangered degree evaluation system o f tradit ional villages to verifiy the case,throu gh analysis the current situation and characterist ics of the endangered tradit ional villages,the realist ic difficult ies of tradit ional villages were discussed in terms o f social structure transform ation,econo mic development,material living space and cultural inheritance.Taking the realist ic difficult ies above into considerat ion,the strategies of vitalit y st imulat ion,characterist ic industry development,material living space transformation,newly-built structures reconstruct ion was proposed based on the result of endangered degree evaluation system.In the end,this paper taking Lianhuachi village for a case study,explored conservat ion and revitalization strategies to verifiy the feasibilit y o f t he proposed method.According to the endangered degree evaluat ion system proposed in this paper,tradit ional villages were divided into mild endangered,moderate endangered or severely endangered.This paper will be helpful for guiding protection work and accelerat ing protection process of tradit ional villages.Conservat ion and revitalizat ion strategies proposed enable effective protection and inheritance and further revitalized tradit ional villages.
