The Research Of Old Residential Districts' Renewal Design Based On Mixed-Use Mode

With the continuous development of China's urbanization process,the current direction of urban development in China has changed from a single incremental development to the coexistence of inventory renewal and incremental development.And a large number of old residential districts in the city has become the key part of the whole urban renewal program.Owing to the growth of construction time,the functional problems and contradictions of these old residential districts have become much more serious and obvious.At the same time,the mixed-use relevant theories play a more important role in current urban planning because its advantages meet the need of social development and people's daily lives.But there is not too much research of the old residential districts' renewal design based on mixed-use theory.Based on this background,this dissertation discusses the feasible strategy of old residential districts renewal design based on the mixed-use mode.This dissertation mainly includes five parts.The first part mainly expounds the research background,defines the relevant concepts and research scope,defines the research significance,summarizes and reviews the relevant theories and research trends of the mixed-use theory and old residential districts renewal design,determines the research method and framework,and then clarifies the innovation points.The second part mainly carries on the theory research to the mixed-use mode of the residential districts,which including the interpretation of its function constitution,the historical evolution path,and carries on the evaluation to its advantages and disadvantages.The third part mainly analyzes the key problems of the old residential districts' renewal design in China,and demonstrates the applicability and necessity of solving these problems based on the mixed-use mode.The fourth part studies two typical old residential districts renewal cases which are based on the mixed-use theory,and compares their similarities and differences,then summarizes their practical experience and provides empirical support for the full dissertation.In the fifth part,based on the previous theory research,problem analysis and case study,the dissertation summarizes four macro principles for the old residential districts' renewal design based on the mixed-use mode,and then proposes specific renewal design strategies from the three aspects of functional organization,spatial planning and design style.This dissertation follows a procedure of definition,analysis,and solution.Then it constructs a systematic framework for the old residential districts' renewal design strategy based on the mixed-use mode,in order to provide some ideas and inspirations for solving the old residential districts' renewal problem in China.
