In the construction process, mechanical and electrical installation engineering is an indispensable part.Mechanical and electrical installation engineering is composed of water supply and drainage, strong and weak electricity, air conditioning and ventilation, fire fighting, floor heating and other disciplines. The speed of construction progress has a great impact on the duration of the whole construction project. As the mechanical and electrical installation engineering has the characteristics of difficult construction, many cross operations and complex technology, how to effectively manage the mechanical and electrical installation engineering has become the focus of the construction industry. In the three major control objectives of project management, progress is directly related to the cost and efficiency of the project,so it has an important significance in promoting the whole project. This paper takes the progress management of mechanical and electrical installation construction as the research object.Firstly,it introduces the meaning and characteristics of mechanical and electrical installation engineering, relevant research results of progress management at home and abroad, project progress plan and progress management theories, such as Gantt chart method, pipe diameter path method, plan review technology, etc.,and explains the management thoughts and theories of key chain method in detail, highlighting the progress of key chain method. The advantages of degree management.Secondly,Delphi method(expert scoring method)and analytic hierarchy process are used to make qualitative and quantitative analysis on the importance sequence of the factors affecting the mechanical and electrical installation progress.Through exploring the factors affecting the mechanical and electrical installation progress, the relevant values of each factor are calculated, and the importance comparison results of the factors affecting the mechanical and electrical installation progress are obtained, which provides a basis for the progress management in the construction stage. Finally, the key chain model is established and compared with the common critical path method, highlighting its advantages in time optimization. In the establishment of the critical chain model, the safety time of the work plan is removed, and the uncertain problems caused by the influencing factors in the construction process are dealt with by setting a buffer zone. The estimation of the critical chain working time and themethod of monitoring the buffer time in the process are optimized to realize the effective control of the electromechanical installation progress.Among them, when estimating the working time of the critical chain,it is divided into three sections according to the characteristics of different work, and the root variance method is used to calculate the project buffer time and the connection buffer time.Through the key chain working time and buffer time, the key chain network plan of the project is obtained to guide the construction. In the dynamic management of the key chain, the key chain buffer time monitoring chart is developed, and the trend extrapolation method is used to analyze the consumption trend of the buffer time to determine whether the buffer time will deviate from the normal standard in the subsequent work,so as to intervene in advance to avoid the delay of the construction period. On this basis, combined with a typical case of a southern power grid project, the feasibility and effectiveness of the schedule management method proposed in this paper are verified.Through the research on the progress management of the construction mechanical and electrical installation project, the main factors affecting the progress of the mechanical and electrical installation project are controlled, and the key chain method is adopted, which can effectively guarantee the completion of the construction period on time, and provide reference for the progress control of similar projects.
