At present,in China’s new manufacturing environment and increasingly fierce competition at home and abroad,human costs are gradually rising,and the transformation of manufacturing industry from labor-intensive to technology-intensive is imperative.The characteristics of product manufacturing activities in manufacturing enterprises,such as uniqueness and definiteness of objectives,are more in line with the characteristics of project management.By adopting the concept of project management,the management mode of manufacturing enterprises is adjusted,cost control is strengthened,manufacturing cycle is shortened,and the anti-risk ability of enterprises is strengthened by improving the management level of manufacturing enterprises.M company has been engaged in the production of products needed for nuclear power for a long time.Because of the particularity of nuclear power product manufacturing,the quality of products is the first,the cost of products is high,and it is facing the opportunities and challenges of industry development.M company seeks to transform the management concept,break through the previous mode of nuclear power product manufacturing management,and begin to optimize the product management mode from the management point of view.This paper takes M company engaged in nuclear power product manufacturing as the research object,studies the manufacturing activities of nuclear power product manufacturing enterprises,compares the advantages and disadvantages of M company’s existing management mode and project management mode,puts forward the applicability and necessity of M company’s project management,and takes M company’s project management of product manufacturing as a case study.The case is the first single product outside thenuclear power products manufactured by M company,which plays a key role in the strategic transformation and upgrading of the company.Case implementation is strictly controlled in accordance with the project management mode.The project organization adopts matrix structure settings.Project scope management,schedule and resource planning,cost budget decomposition,quality management and risk management are carried out from project goal formulation,milestone plan,work decomposition to responsibility matrix establishment.The earned value analysis theory is used to control the cost schedule.Finally,the effect of project objectives such as cost,schedule and quality is evaluated.The case completes the objectives of the project.This paper analyses the implementation process of product project management in M company,and points out the shortcomings in the implementation process of product project management,such as imperfect organization,unclear rights and responsibilities of project managers,and lack of project management experience.From the aspects of establishing training mechanism,clarifying powers and responsibilities,optimizing organizational structure and high-level support,the optimization direction is put forward.It provides improvement direction for M company’s future project management promotion,and also provides reference for similar enterprise management mode transformation.It has positive reference significance for the implementation of project management in manufacturing industry.
