Research On Methodology Of Perceptual Structures In Architectural Design

Previously,architectures with structure participation are mainly designed through structural cooperation with architectural design to express the technical beauty of architecture or presentation of structure as mechanical calculation results.This kind of participation is mostly presented in the visual way in architecture,and there are few responses to functions,space,environment as well as many other issues considered by structure and architecture.With the progress of structural technology and the change of architectural thoughts,architects and structural designers begin to search for possibility of structure at various levels of architectural design,which resulted in the study of "Archi-neering".Consequently,existence of structure is weakened in order to be combined with various expressions of architecture,that is,“perceptual structure” studied in this paper.research on perceptual structure hopes to put the structure into the discussion category of architecture and make the structure a part of architectural design thinking together with sharing the role of expression of architectural significance.Through analysis and summary of the ways of structural participation in architectural design,this paper aims to expand new ways of structural participation in architectural design and provide some reference for the combination of structure with architecture.This paper takes the form of perceptual structure as the research object and introduces a new perspective of thinking about structural design from aspects of architecture.Firstly,this paper analyses the trend of structural participation in architectural design from visual expression to perceptual expression through historical analysis and puts forward that perceptual structure is a new research direction of contemporary ways in combinations with structural and architectural design,which provides theoretical support for the research.Then,through the analysis of the connotation and logic of perception,the definition of perceptual structure is determined,and according to characteristics of current presentation of perceptual structure,it is analyzed in the following ways,implicit technology,multi-meaning concepts and participation in architectures.According to the case study of existing perceptual structure participating in architectural design,ways of perceptual structure participating in architectural design are classified in the following kinds.From the purpose of "implied technology",it can be divided into "participation in building space shaping perceptual structure" and "participation in space interface shaping perceptual structure".Additionally,from the perspective of multi-meaning,it can be divided into "perceptual structure for barrier-free floors" and "perceptual structure for daily use".Furthermore,from aim to “participate in architectural expression” of perceptual structure,it can be divided into "abstract perceptual structure","perceptual structure shaping perceptual experience of participants" and perceptual "structure participating in place shaping ".Finally,Through the case study of Dongtai High-speed Railway Station,the strategy of perceptual structure participating in architectural design is applied,and effectiveness of the design method is verified.Finally,this paper summarizes research in this paper,puts forward the relevant problems and prospects the direction of structural participation in architectural design.
