Generation And Evolution Of Traditional Settlement Types In Chongqing

Chongqing is located in the southeast edge of Sichuan Basin,with karst landform as the main part,dense river network and long civilization.There are a number of traditional settlements with a long history.There is a very long history of human existence in this region.Two million years ago,"Wushan people" was called the dawn of Oriental civilization.The first settlement remains in Chongqing appeared in the Neolithic age.Later,in the long historical period of Chongqing settlement development,the progress of production technology played a major role in promoting the development of Chongqing settlement.Historical events such as war,ethnic integration and population migration had an important impact on the development of Chongqing settlement.In the middle of Qing Dynasty,the "second Huguang to fill Sichuan" movement realized the social and economic reconstruction of Chongqing area,and basically established the existing pattern of Chongqing traditional settlement.The traditional settlements in Chongqing depend on the characteristics of human habitation.Based on the long-term social form of history and culture,the geographical spatial distribution law created in the specific topography and landform is also a special form of human habitation that people use and transform the nature.At present,Chinese society is in a critical period of transformation.Many regions in China begin to develop tourism projects,which has a great impact on the inheritance and development of traditional settlements,leading to the cultural diversity of traditional settlements and the possibility of disappearance of local characteristics.This book aims to explore the diversity protection and development of Chongqing Traditional Settlements by revealing the formation principle of Chongqing traditional settlements.This research is a practical research on revealing the law of traditional settlements inChongqing under the theoretical system of human settlements science,combined with the research methods and achievements of geography,cultural anthropology and architecture.Based on the three concepts of "geospatial pattern","natural ecological pattern and land use pattern" and "history and culture",the research unifies the research object in time and space.The "attribute combination" of natural space,cultural structure and technical characteristics of traditional settlements is taken as the basis of settlement classification.This classification method is of Exploratory Significance to the study of Settlement Types in Chongqing.It can reveal the internal generation and development rules of settlement system,thus leading to the conclusion of settlement protection.Through the above research,we can find out the relationship between the various systems of human settlements,so as to summarize the objective laws of the development of traditional settlements,and on this basis,we can establish a research framework suitable for traditional settlements in Chongqing and even in Southwest China,and seek the direction of the development of regional human settlements diversity.In this study,the author not only uses the scientific research method of human settlements,but also combines it with the cultural discipline,taking the regional culture as the research starting point,deeply analyzes the formation,development and change of Chongqing’s traditional settlements,explores the corresponding development laws,and on the basis of protecting the diversity and characteristics of regional settlements,seeks for the background of globalization To maintain the diversity of regional human settlements in Chongqing.The "way" this study attempts to build is fundamentally to seek a concept of diversity evolution that conforms to the development law of traditional settlements based on the current life style of human society.As ALIF Dirlik put forward a possibility: "in the context of global integration,is there still the possibility of jointly transforming the world by restoring the knowledge of regional characteristics or exploring a practical model that can be applied to the global reproduction of regional characteristics?".ALIF Dirlik is different from most scholars.He believes that in the process of globalization,there is an opportunity for regional culture to return,and denies that globalization has only negative effects.In fact,in the context of global integration,there are indeed many regional issues that are gradually moving towards globalization.The generation and development of regional human settlements appear to have more realistic vitality and era value in the challenges and opportunities.We hope that through this study,we can try to find a way to protect and inherit the traditional settlement culture and other regional landscapes,so that the world in the 21 st century can remain colorful.
