Research On The Impact Of Three International Professional Organizations On The Disciplinary Direction Of Modern Urban Design

In ancient times,urban design was based on local lifestyles,and people integrated religion and culture to create a suitable living environment.In the twentieth century,human society has entered a stage of rapid development.The construction and destruction of technology are increasing at the same time.The emergence of urban problems has brought unprecedented challenges to urban planning and architecture.In the middle of the twentieth century,the West proposed the discipline of modern urban design to make up for the shortcomings of urban construction.In recent years,domestic cities have developed rapidly,and urban design needs are huge,but theoretical research is still lacking.Studying the history of modern urban design in the West will help us better analyze the domestic social conditions and provide a reference for the development of urban design in China.This article will sort out the development process of urban design,extract the development characteristics of urban design and the historical background proposed by modern urban design,focus on the rapid development of the historical period from the early twentieth century to the middle of the twentieth century,and select three important international professional organizations——International Modern Building Association(CIAM),American Regional Planning Association(RPAA),Ten Times Team(Team X).By analyzing first-hand materials such as meeting records,letters from core characters,and papers,and interpretations of later generations,combined with the socio-economic environment at the time,we can look for clues to explore and practice in urban design,using this as an entry point to study international organizations With the influence of its core members on the discipline of modern urban design,it has combed the chemical reactions generated by the cooperation between members,and the historical process of the development of the discipline of modern urban design through debate,resistance and learning between different organizations.It is believed that urban design theory swings between rationalism and humanism in historical development.It has the characteristics of criticality and spiral.In the 20 th century,the International Modern Architecture Association and the American Regional Planning Association vigorously promoted rationalist design.It explores the causes of more social problems caused by the two major organizations after they provide efficient,hygienic,and orderly urban models.Beginning in the 1950 s,post-modernists represented by ten groups began to fight for modern urban design to meet the needs of the masses.In the process,the modern urban design discipline was born.By studying the propositions and practices of core figures in the organization,the three members of the organization were refined to improve the theory and theory of modern urban design disciplines,and formed interdisciplinary cooperation methods and adaptive practical methods.These contributions have spread through numerous practices and platforms of international organizations to this day.The three international professional organizations not only directly contributed to the establishment of the discipline of modern urban design,but also influenced the ideology,theory,cooperation methods,and practical methods of the discipline of modern urban design.
