Under the call of Beijing to host the 2022 Winter Olympics and the “300 million people participate in winter sports”,the Chinese winter sports industry has developed rapidly.Alpine skiing has gradually gained recognition as the most popular snow project. The mass ski population has increased rapidly and the ski facilities construction has developed steadily. The post-game utilization problems of competitive ski resorts have gradually gained attention.Skiing is rapidly spreading, but safety accidents are frequent. The rate of skiing in China is 2‰,which is much higher than that in developed countries. The issue of the safe use of competitive skiing scenes to the public after the game cannot be ignored.Based on the problem of safe use, this paper investigates the development trend of mass skiing, domestic skiing facilities and skiing events, and summarizes the development characteristics of winter sports in China at present: the current proportion of skiing beginners population is large, and the level of safety awareness of skiers is poor and the crowd composition is complicated; The relevant construction standards system is imperfect, and the supervision work of the relevant departments is difficult to carry out;The competitive alpine ski area is built according to the corresponding competition standards, facing a contradiction of serving both the skiing beginners and the athletes, which caused the highest rate of trauma in China's ski resorts. From the view of design point,it is found that the design of the ski area has a direct relationship with the accident rate of the ski resort form the further summarize of the characteristics and the reason of ski accidents.Through field research, expert interviews and research on existing domestic success stories, this paper proposes the safety design strategy of the competitive alpine ski area from the aspects of ski trails, auxiliary facilities and auxiliary spaces. The ski slope is the main body of the ski area and the place where serious accidents occurred.Based on the principle of safe use,the safety design strategy is proposed from the overall layout, streamline mode, detailed nodes, especially the key stop zones, and the mathematical model of the buffer distance of terminal stop zone is established.Facilities and auxiliary spaces are important support for the safe operation of ski resorts, and specific design strategies are proposed to promote their rational design. This paper is expected to provide some guidance for the construction or transformation of alpine ski area, promote the use of ski area after the race, provide security for the popularization of skiing in China and the further development of the ski industry, and help “300 million people participate in winter sports” as soon as possible.
