Personas,a virtual representative of real users and a target user model built on a series of real data,is in order to allow team members to set aside personal preferences and focus on the target users' s motivation and behavior in the design process and facilitate communication between the departments of the team.With the continuous maturity of information technology,the development of the Internet industry and the increasing influence of user experience on consumer decision-making,Personas,a tool originates from digital products,is applied to more and more fields.However,Personas is still in the period of development and perfection,and there are still various problems in using it.This research is based on the relevant research literature from Alan Cooper's consulting company and Nielsen Norman Group,a user experience research and consulting company co-founded by Donald A.Norman and Jakob Nielsen.As well as the related research in "The Practice of User Research for Interaction Design" edited by Chen Shu and Chen Zhenhua,and in "Insight User: User Research Methods and Applications" edited by Hu Fei.They all proposed problems and obstacles in the use of Personas,but did not propose a clear solution.For these problems,the author has a similar experience in actual operation and use,so the author try to research and dig out the root cause of the problem and solve the problem,optimize Personas,and make the tool more mature and easy to use.Personas has a wide range of applications,but optimization research needs a clear foothold to be practically targeted.Currently,it is also widely used in industrial product design,but the related theoretical research is scarce.With the development of IoT,the interactive properties of industrial products are becoming more and more prominent,and suitable tools and ways are needed to give strong support.Home appliances are the most basic and typical type of industrial products,and its smart IoT trend is clear and strong.Therefore,industrial products are set as the target area and home appliances are set as typical objects.Authenticity issue,Effectiveness issue,Trust issue,and Life cycle issue are the four major performance issues in the use of Personas.The Authenticity issue and Effectiveness issue are the core of these four issues.Authenticity issue depends mainly on the operation of the builder,and the Effectiveness issue can be improved through the optimization of Personas.Based on the analysis of Personas' theories by system thinking,combined with the analysis of Personas' application cases,it is determined that the crux of the Effectiveness issue is the elemental composition and logical structure of Personas.The way to optimize the elements is cut in from the perspective of product design.According to the characteristics of the home appliance products and the composition of product system,explore the root point and element composition of Personas in the design of home appliances.The structural optimization approach is combined with consumer behavior analysis,to build the structure of Personas from the essential logic of personality and behavioral decisions.Finally,Persona element reference list and structure model for product design were clarified.In the end,the elemental composition and structural model of Personas are verified and updated through simulated control experiments.
