The preserved traditional village is an important material carrier of traditional culture,reflecting the various political,cultural and economic activities of the people in the village throughout history.However,China’s rapid development in recent decades and the accelerated process of urbanization have led to dramatic changes in the overall spatial pattern of traditional villages,which need to adapt to new ways of production and life.South Taihang mountainous area of Xinxiang City located in northern Henan Province,bordering Shanxi Province,Hebei Province.Due to its remote location,steep mountainous terrain and backward development,a large number of cultural relics and traditional villages in the area have been preserved.Its unique geographical and human environment has created the unique spatial structure of the traditional villages in the region,but the tourism development of traditional villages in recent years has had a certain impact on the village space in the region.This paper first summarizes the natural geography and human and social environment of the south Taihang area of Xinxiang City,and then analyzes the site selection and distribution,spatial structure of villages,and characteristics of residential compounds of traditional villages in the south Taihang area of Xinxiang City from three perspectives,and analyzes their formation mechanisms from factors such as natural environment,resource conditions,economy and society,war crimes,and religious customs.The spatial evolution of traditional villages in the south Taihang area of Xinxiang City in recent years has been collated,and the internal and external causes of evolution have been analyzed.Finally,it summarizes the formation logic and contemporary evolutionary characteristics of the spatial pattern of villages in the south Taihang area of Xinxiang,and proposes a conservation strategy for sustainable development of the traditional spatial pattern of villages in the south Taihang area of Xinxiang. |
