Research On Development Of Overseas Chinese Industrial Buildings In Hokkien(1842-1966)

Overseas Chinese industrial architecture is a relatively independent type in China's industrial architecture.Its formation and development are influenced by many factors in China and the West,so it has unique artistic characteristics,cultural connotation and historical significance.The industrial buildings of overseas Chinese in southern Fujian are an important component of the industrial buildings of overseas Chinese in China.To a certain extent,they reflect the contribution of overseas Chinese to the economic and cultural development of southern Fujian cities and promote the modernization of modern industrial building technology and construction equipment,promoted the city early water conservancy,electric power,transportation systems and other urban supporting municipal system.This paper takes the industrial buildings of overseas Chinese in southern Fujian,which were founded by the 1842 from 1966,as the research object,this paper clarifies the background and development of overseas Chinese industry in South Fujian,the industrial categories and regional distribution,and the status quo of the industrial building relics,and reveals the characteristics and basic features of the construction and development of overseas Chinese industry in South Fujian.The study of overseas Chinese industrial architecture in southern Fujian can further improve the research system of modern architecture in overseas Chinese hometown and deepen the understanding of the role of overseas Chinese in the process of urban modernization in southern Fujian,it provides the information basis and the original basis for the protection,repair and renewal of the modern architectural heritage in southern Fujian.The main body of the paper is divided into three parts.The first part(the second and third chapters of the paper)introduces the background and development path of overseas Chinese industry in southern Fujian,and thefour stages of initial development,rapid growth,stagnation and secondary development of overseas Chinese industry in South Fujian are summarized.The second part of the paper(the Fourth Chapter of the paper)takes some typical cases such as Xiamen Amoy Datong Cannery and Xiamen Water Supply Company as the research object,on the construction background of the typical cases of food industry,public utility and other industries in the modern overseas Chinese industrial buildings in Xiamen,Quanzhou and Zhangzhou respectively,based on the consideration of site selection,the introduction and application of facade architectural style and architectural technology,this paper analyzes and summarizes the unique architectural style of overseas Chinese industrial buildings in southern Fujian influenced by foreign cultures.In the third part(the fifth chapter of the thesis),through the revelation and analysis of the industrial building scale and the general layout characteristics of overseas Chinese in southern Fujian,the elevation style of the building unit,the building detail characteristics and the use of building materials,the types of building structure,the introduction of building technology and building equipment,etc.,this paper summarizes the basic features of overseas Chinese industrial buildings in southern Fujian.
