Research On Manchu Folk Architecture In Heilongjiang Province

Heilongjiang Province is one of the birthplaces of the Manchu.4000 years ago,Sushen People,the forefathers of Manchu people,began to build houses in this area.They have been living in this area for a long time,which was the the embryonicform of the Manchu culture,but also the foundation of the traditional Manchu-style dwelling houses,indoor layout,decorative arts.The Manchu traditional culture in Heilongjiang Province is an important part of national history and culture in the province.The Manchu,as the second largest ethnic group following the Han nationality,has a long history and splendid culture,and has left a lot of precious national cultural heritage in terms of architectural culture.The architecture of Manchu can be seen everywhere,for instance,the architectural complex such as huge,glorious,magnificent and crafted palace buildings and monasteries,Taoist temples,imperial tombs,as well as many village buildings such as folk dwellings,mansions,academies and old-style private schools.Manchu’s traditional dwellings are influenced by geographical factors,living environment,customs and its culture,all of which have created its unique national architectural characteristics.From its location,indoor layout and interior space,its creativity was displayed.These buildings of Manchu give a glance to its culture and folk customs,is one of the important symbols of Manchu culture.This paper,taking the characteristic and architectural decorations of the Manchu residential architecture in Heilongjiang Province as the starting point and the Manchu residential architecture as the carrier,analyzed the details of the decoration and the styles.The first part is about the current situation of the Manchu residential architecture in Heilongjiang Province from the relevant historical documents.It gave a statement on the unique architectural components and summarized its characteristics,analyzed the decorative style,pattern and meaning of its shape as well as implored the influence of the Manchu culture and living habit on the architecture and the design of interior space.The second part,based on the combination of artistic design and history,summarized the characteristics of the decorative style in the inner components of the Manchu residential architecture and illustratedhow the Manchu people decorate,designand display their residential architecture by a large number of field researches and picturesThe last part is about how to inherit the Manchu-style architectureaccording to the current situation of Manchu residential architecture in Heilongjiang Province.It is hoped these methods of inheritance in the study are able to protect the Manchu’s architectural culture.
