Due to the large areas of our country and the coexistence of different types of the brick masonry structures,there are many factors that affect the seismic performance of the brick masonry structures,such as the function of the structure,the age of construction,the number of layer,the intensity,the area,and so on.Therefore,in order to study the seismic performance of the brick masonry structures nationwide in detail,this paper considered fully the above-mentioned factors.The seismic vulnerability of the brick masonry structures with different types in different areas were obtained.The research in this paper is of great significance for the seismic performance assessment,risk assessment,earthquake loss assessment,earthquake insurance,disaster prevention,and mitigation planning of various brick masonry structures.This thesis mainly contains the following work:(1)The design data of different brickwork structures in various areas of the country was investigated.According to the specifications,a total of 84 types of the brick masonry buildings with different functions,different construction years,different layers,different intensity,and different areas were classified and divided.(2)The seismic vulnerability analysis of the brick masonry structures is one of the most important methods to understand the seismic performance of the brick masonry structures.Firstly,the analysis model of the brick masonry structures,restoring force model,failure state indexes,and numerical calculation method were considered.The nonlinear analysis method of the brick masonry structures was selected.On the basis of the above,the incremental dynamic analysis that comprehensively considers ground motion and structural uncertainty was used to carry out the seismic vulnerability analysis for the structures in Conclusion(1).(3)According to the seismic vulnerability analysis results of the brick masonry structures from Conclusion(2),the seismic vulnerability of the brick masonry structures with different construction years,different layers,different intensity,and different areas were analyzed and classified.The seismic performance of different types of the brick masonry structures was studied.(4)On the basis of the influencing factors in Conclusion(1),the influence of the constructional columns on the seismic performance of the brick masonry structures was further investigated.Firstly,the effects of the constructional columns on the seismic performance of the masonry structures were summarized from the three aspects including real earthquake damage,experimental research,and numerical analysis.On the basis of the above,the effects of the constructional columns on the mechanical performance and the failure states of the brick masonry structures were studied by the seismic vulnerability of the brick masonry structures.(5)Due to the large areas of our country from south to north and various temperature in different areas,the wall thickness of the brick masonry buildings in different areas are far different.Therefore,based on the comparison of the seismic vulnerability of the brick masonry structures in different areas,the effects of wall thickness on different failure states of the brick masonry structures were also discussed.
