Metro Public Art Research Under The Background Of The Protection Of Old Beijing Town

Beijing is a city with a profound history.The old town of Beijing has maintained a relatively complete structure and numerous historical and cultural heritages.It expresses the characteristics of traditional Beijing cities and focus of the protection of historical and cultural cities.The underground railway system of the old town is the lifeline of a modern city.The public art of the metro carries the genes of traditional Chinese culture,reflecting the historical context of the town,carrying the era imprint of the development of Beijing city.Metro public art plays an increasingly important role.In the old town,the most preserved area of Beijing's cultural heritage,the metro public art has become a multi-level art form with events,performances and interactions,making it a historical and cultural heritage and important clues about the human spirit.People's perception of urban metros is no longer limited to the functionality of “safe,convenient and comfortable”,but rather the experience of people,and space brought about by the public art of metro;the integration of artistic connotation and metro space;The interaction with the works of art can form a close relationship between the “underground culture” and the “ground culture” of the metro stations in the old town,showing a local adaptation and becoming an important part of the extension of the city context.This paper summarizes the traditional urban(mural painting,relief)art works of the old town metro,the systematic design of the metro space and the public art form of the metro under the change of science and technology,and cross-contrasts with the classic cases of domestic and foreign historical cities.The different spatial levels of old Beijing town are linked to human appeals to awaken people's awareness of the history and culture of the old town.In addition to the repair and protection of the first batch of metro public art works with valuable cultural value in the old town,the current solution and the idea of establishing relevant protection mechanisms are proposed.The public art of the old town metro highlights the comprehensive understanding of the urban cultural image and carries the cultural awareness of a nation,which plays a large open window of historical and cultural records and inheritance.The Beijing metro is the earliest metro built in China.Metro public art came with the opening of its first metro line.In the new era,the inheritance of the urban context has been put on the schedule.On the dual basis of the protection of the old town and the application of the central axis,the new art of the old town metro is worthy of further exploration.Setting more humanistic care for the old town metro,affirming the fit and inspiration of the existing public art form and content in the old town,finding out the existing public art setting and propose corresponding solutions is the purpose of the research.
