| At present,China is committed to building the economic belt of the 21 st Century Maritime Silk Road, aiming to better promote the maritime trade with the rest of the world. However,in recent years, the frequent activities of pirates along the Maritime Silk Road are serious. The land threatens the smooth progress of the maritime trade,so the study of piracy becomes even more important.According to the current research on piracy, the pirate activity area will change with time. Therefore, this paper studies the characteristics of the spatial pattern of pirate attack from a quantitative perspective, and further explores the influencing factors in order to find out more effective factors to deal with piracy. This paper first introduces the current situation of piracy activities, and then divides the pirate activity area of the Maritime Silk Road. Then, the pirate attack from 2008 to 2017 is selected as the analysis element, and the spatial gravity center statistical analysis and the weighted standard deviation ellipse are combined from the local sum.The overall perspective analyzes the spatial pattern of pirate activity.Secondly, spatial autocorrelation analysis is used to test the spatial correlation of pirate activity area. Finally, the spatial measurement model is judged, and the spatial error model of spatial lag model is constructed based on panel data to explore the factors affecting the spatial pattern of pirate attack. The factors of change are explored. The results show that the center of gravity of the pirate attack area along the Maritime Silk Road has a tendency to be biased from west to east. The total number of pirate attacks is reduced but the scope of activities is larger. There is a positive spatial correlation between the pirate attack areas. The instability and governance have a significant impact on pirate attacks in the region. The results obtained can provide reference for relevant departments to formulate strategies for piracy, and then practice the protection of China’s maritime Silk Road strategy and enhance mutual cooperation in world maritime trade. |
