With the development of railway in China,the number of electric locomotive is increasing which need to overhaul.Firstly the overhaul of electric locomotive was done on the railway line.In order to improve the maintenance efficiency,shorten the test time and reduce the influence of maintenance work on electric locomotive which is running on railway line,building centralized and specialized maintenance facility for electric locomotive.The electric locomotive overhaul device which has been built mainly use motor to simulate the load of locomotive.In this paper motor and flywheel also be used to simulate the load of electric locomotive.Because the running mode of loading flywheel is affected by the running mode of traction motor of electric locomotive,Operating mode of loading flywheel is different from that of general energy storage flywheel.We focuses on the loading and operation characteristics of traction motor.The stress analysis and structural design of the load flywheel are studied.Specially,the stress distribution of load flywheel is analyzed.The 3d stress simulation of load flywheel is completed by Ansys FEA software.Using Ansys software analyze the radial stress,circumferential stress and axial stress distribution of loading flywheel,getting that stress distribution is uneven,and structure of loading flywheel is unreasonable,so flywheel requires further optimized design.FEA software was used to optimize the structure of loading flywheel by changing thickness under the condition that the weight and moment of inertia are not changing.The maximum stress decreases,which reduces the strength requirement of material and the cost of loading flywheel is reduced.The optimization scheme is provided for the design of loading flywheel used on overhaul device of electric locomotive.Using Matlab/Simulink complete the control simulation of the loading system.Finally,the test results verifies the rationality that motor and flywheel can cooperate to complete the loading work,which lays a foundation for research and application of the overhaul device loading system of electric locomotive.
