The Study On Residential Buildings' Protection And Renewal In The Historical District Of Baoding

As population grows,with the development of national economy and city reconstruction,the situation of residential buildings is getting more and more rigorous.In recent years,due to political policies,the Baoding's social economy is enormous.Baoding,being a well-know historical and cultural city,has abundant historical relics and variety in its culture.In the buildings of historical districts in Baoding,residential buildings make up most.The study on its protection and renewal is of high utility to not only architectural historical study,the urban history and the folklore research but also historical cultural geography and historical economic geography.Therefore,the objective of research is to protect and renew the residential buildings in the historic city.Make the residential buildings be in line with its regional characteristics based on protection,renewal,control and continuation.Make the residential buildings inherit and develop the city's style and regional features.Analyze the residential buildings' overall style,building environment and architecture form one by one,from whole to parts.Protect and recover historical districts' architectural and environmental features.Extract regional elements and bring them out.The author,by the means of a filed survey,document research,analysis of cases,system analysis and modeling structure,study on the protection and renewal of residential buildings in the histirical districts of Baoding.The residential buildings in the historical districts can be divided into three types: historical traditional houses,cottage areas and modern residential houses.Based on a filed study,in the historical districts,the traditional houses has been subject to varying degrees of damage.Some fall into disrepair even collapse,some are turned into other things.The buildings in the cottage areas are built badly,the transportation accessibility are relatively weak and the environment is dirty and messy.There has poor coordination of modern residential house's overall style and historical district's overall style.The regional characteristics are deficient.Therefore,the paper focuses on transforming bungalows built badly,keeping the regional features and enhancing environmental quality,passing down the culture and maintaining its original features,based on the protection and renewal of traditional residential buildings.Abandon its disadvantages,inherit and develop its advantages.First,renovate and update traditional residential buildings by the quality of construction.For the protection of traditional residential buildings,first class the houses in the the quality of construction.Then design conservation strategies.For some better traditional houses,we need improve the environment around houses,plan parking space,strengthen legal supervision,take the maintenance plan,design proper bus lines and so on.For some worse traditional houses,protect the houses' overall layout and architectural feature.Follow the floor layout and change the original function.Use new technology or new material renovate and prettify.For bungalows,make the overall transformation and guide the retail format.For modern houses,improve environment and embody geographic characteristics.The author,on the basis of relevant literature review at home and abroad,put forward the protection and renewal principles and apply the appropriate principle to 31 in the South Street,the office of military force trained and commanded by Li Hongzhang,Ligaohaoyuan neighbourhood and Xingtang neighbourhood.
