In recent years, research on VANET has extensive prospect due to the merging of wireless communication and transmission technique. The vehicle network is a mobile self-organizing network in the actual traffic environment. In VANET,nodes establish networks and implement routing and delivery of data packets through mutual cooperation. However, due to the rapid change of the network topology, frequent communication link switching, short link duration, and rapid changes in surrounding complex environments, the wireless channel is subject to constant external interference, resulting in a more unstable vehicle network environment. The high-speed mobility of the vehicle and other factors make the vehicle self-organizing network have many complex features, which brings challenges to the transmission mechanism, which affects the performance of the vehicle self-organizing network, resulting in a high packet loss rate in the vehicle self-organizing network. These mean that the tuning of the performance of the vehicle network is very research-oriented.This paper analyzes and optimizes the packet loss performance of the vehicle network.Since deploying vehicles in real traffic scenarios is costly and difficult, using network simulation is a viable alternative when studying the performance of in-vehicle networks. This paper combines the traffic flow simulator to provide vehicle simulation scenarios and network simulators to provide performance analysis of network communication performance simulation experiments.First of all,the experiment considers many factors, through a series of simulation experiments on different influencing factors such as vehicle density, vehicle speed change, and number of lanes, and obtains packet loss data for comparative analysis.Secondly,we the analyzed cause of packet loss according to the performance of the IEEE802.11 p protocol under intensive traffic conditions. Then,we modified the AODV protocol by modifying the routing protocol source code to improve the packet loss performance of the vehicle self-organizing network. Finally, compare and analyze the packet loss characteristics before and after optimization, and verify the effectiveness of the improved routing protocol in the optimization of packet loss performance of vehicle self-organizing network. In this paper, the packet loss characteristics of vehicle self-organizing network are analyzed. The analysis results show that the vehicle density affects the packet loss rate and throughput of the vehicle network. The packet loss rate fluctuates with the increase of vehicle density, and the vehicle speed limit range has no obvious impact on the packet loss rate.Meanwhile, considering the packet loss characteristics of the vehicle network, the ant colony algorithm is added to the AODV protocol for optimization and improvement.Under the same traffic simulation scenario, the packet loss rate of the improved new-AODV protocol is lower than that of the AODV protocol, and the network has better stability.
