With the growth of the automobile industry and the rapid development of wireless communication technology, the Vehicular Ad hoc Networks(VANETs)has become an important research content. In the related technologies of vehicle networking, the design and optimization of routing protocols has also become a very critical research direction.Compared to the traditional wireless sensor network communication technology,on the one hand, the nodes in the VANETs network have higher computing power and more sufficient energy support. On the other hand, the nodes of the VANETs network have higher mobility and need to face a more complex network environment, which puts forward higher requirements for the connectivity of the network. In order to get better connectivity, more stable and efficient routing protocol, the following works are done in this paper:Firstly, drawing lessons from the cluster routing algorithm to select cluster heads,a node self-evaluation method based on fuzzy system is established. And considering the high mobility of the node in VANET.A fuzzy evaluation model of nodes is constructed by taking the speed, direction information and channel status of the neighbor vehicles as evaluation factors.Any node in the network can judge whether there is a stable and excellent communication environment through the self-evaluation system.Secondly, the high-speed and dynamic topology of VANET network makes VANET network unstable, which poses severe challenges to routing protocols. In order to improve the network stability in the VANET network and reduce the network routing interruption due to high mobility, this paper proposes a routing algorithm based on node self-evaluation(RSE).This algorithm proposes an optimization method for multipath based on demand distance vector algorithm, which makes it possible to use as much stable nodes as possible during the route discovery process to guarantee the stability and connectivity in the routing process. And reduce nodes which owns a low evaluation to participate in the routing discovery,in order to reduce the network overhead. Finally, the simulation is carried out through the traffic simulation tool SUMO and the network simulation tool NS-2.35.The simulation environment is constructed by using SUMO and OpenStreetMap to abstract and extract the actual streets.Fully investigating the influence of the network scale and the maximum speed of the vehicle on the AODV,AOMDV and RSE protocol under the two environment of urban road condition and high speed road condition. The simulation results shows that RSE has good performance for each evaluation index. It is proved that the RSE routing algorithm proposed in this paper can effectively improve the network stability and connectivity and reduce the network overhead.
