With the rapid development of China’s railways,trains have become an ideal choice for people to travel.The thermal environment and thermal comfort of railway station waiting room have been paid more and more attention.The waiting room of railway station has the characteristics of high internal space,large contrast of personnel density and short stay time.At present,the railway station waiting rooms generally have the problems of uneven temperature distribution and poor thermal comfort.In order to improve the thermal environment of the waiting room,the setting temperature of air conditioning system is often blindly lowered in summer.The thermal environment of the waiting room has not been significantly improved,but the energy consumption of air conditioning has increased dramatically.Therefore,how to effectively improve the thermal environment of the railway station waiting room,improve the thermal comfort of passengers,and reduce the energy consumption of the air conditioning have become an urgent problem to be solved in railway station.In this paper,the thermal environment of the waiting room of a railway station was investigated by means of on-site testing and questionnaires in Guilin in summer.The characteristics of thermal environment and thermal comfort in waiting room are analyzed.The characteristics of indoor temperature,wind speed and relative humidity,thermal neutral temperature and thermal comfort interval were mainly analyzed,and the construction method of the thermal environment in the waiting room was put forward.The indoor thermal environment under the existing air conditioning design scheme was simulated and analyzed by PHOENICS software.The optimization scheme of the waiting room thermal environment was analyzed based on the simulation results,the functional area distribution and thermal comfort index of the waiting room.Based on the climatic characteristics of Guilin and passenger thermal comfort,the energy-saving strategy of the waiting room and its energy-saving potential were studied with the combination of the simulation analysis of Design Builder software.The research results are as follows:(1)Most passengers feel that the waiting room is overheated and hope the indoor temperature to decrease in summer.The relative humidity of the air in the waiting room is over 73%,but the passengers show a certain adaptability to the humid environment.And passengers are more willing to accept the waiting environment with higher wind speed.(2)The thermal neutral temperature of the waiting room is 26.45℃.Passenger’s thermal comfort interval is 25.19℃~27.26℃,the upper limit of this interval exceeds the ASHRAE55 standard summer human comfort temperature upper limit.(3)Adjusting the position of air supply outlet according to the seat area of waiting room can effectively solve the problem of uneven distribution of temperature field.This solution can improve the thermal comfort of passengers in the waiting room.(4)The energy consumption of air-conditioning in the waiting room in summer can be reduced by 17.0% by increasing the design temperature of air-conditioning,setting up horizontal external shade and using natural ventilation.
