With the promulgation of the "made in China 2025" plan,3D printing technology is regarded as the deep integration object of the informatization and industrialization of the national manufacturing industry,which accelerates the application of 3D printing technology in various industries.3D printing technology compared with the traditional manufacturing technology,its advantage lies in the 3D printing is a kind of based on the digital model of the material manufacturing process,simply enter the product digital model can be quickly from the 3D printing devices make complex products,simplify the production process,save the manufacturing time,storage and transportation costs,etc.These technological advantages have attracted the attention of the racing world.With the competition in the field of racing car from the past unilateral pursuit of dynamic performance,into the now all-round competition,more attention to the pursuit of intelligent,electric and lightweight racing.For the lightweight field of racing cars,3D printing technology has the ability to rapidly manufacture complex structures,which can transform the lightweight structural design that cannot be achieved by traditional manufacturing technology into reality,and bring unprecedented improvement to the lightweight of racing cars.Therefore,it is of great significance to carry out the application research of 3D printing technology in the field of lightweight racing.This article based on FSAE racing project of Guangdong university of technology,and takes 3D printing technology as the research object.Firstly,this paper introduces the basic concept and working principle of 3D printing technology,analyzes the characteristics of 3D printing technology,proposes the evaluation method of 3D printing technology for racing parts and formulates the selection process of 3D printing technology for racing parts.Secondly,combined with the characteristics of 3D printing technology,a 3D printed racing wheel hub model was designed.The ANSYS Workbench software was used for static simulation analysis and fatigue test simulation analysis,which proved the rationality of the structural design of 3D printed racing wheel hub model.Then,using the topology optimization theory and the ANSYS Workbenchsoftware as the topology optimization analysis tool,the topology optimization was carried out on the 3D printed racing wheel hub model,and the 3D printed lightweight racing wheel hub model was obtained.Finally,the 3D printing process of the racing wheel hub was studied by Magic software,and the 3D printing equipment was used to produce the 3D printing lightweight racing wheel hub,and the forming effect and lightweight effect were analyzed to verify the manufacturing feasibility and lightweight effect of 3D printing technology in the racing field.Racing field,this paper presents a 3D printing technology evaluation method with 3D printing technology selection process,and research on the car wheel hub for 3D printing lightweight,it is concluded that the 3D printing lightweight car wheel than traditional car wheel hub can reduce the quality of the 0.940 kg,quality decline of up to 38.9%,lightweight,proved that the 3D printing technology in the field of car lightweight application value.This paper has practical engineering significance for the research on3 D printing technology in the field of lightweight racing,and can provide useful reference for the research in other related fields.
