Quality Management Study On SEG Crankcase Development Project

As a core component,crankcase affects the engine's comprehensive performance.It's clear that product quality cannot be assured by only traditional post-test quality control in manufacturing industries during mass production.Therefore,it is necessary to convert the quality control from traditional post-test to advance prevention in order to control product quality in earlier stage,significantly reducing the quality cost.In this thesis,quality management of gasoline engine crankcase product development project is conducted,including quality planning,quality assurance and quality control.The input and output at each project phase are analyzed using “turtle diagram”,the process flow is drafted,and on its basis,the critical product characteristics and process parameters are analyzed.The potential failure modes and their potential risks are provided by using PFMEA(Potential Failure Mode and Effect Analysis)and corresponding preventive measures are taken against the potential risks using process control plan.The quality stability of product features is verified in terms of the critical characteristics by studying the initial process capability index.The stability of the measurement system and applicability of the measuring instruments are evaluated based on system measurements.The potential factors affecting quality such as 5M1E(Man,Machine,Material,Method,Measuring and Environment)are analyzed using cause-and-effect diagram.Poke-yoke is adopted for tooling design,and an error-proofing fixture designed to identify the parts with missing features from the previous process.Finally,how the project manager uses quality planning tools to enhance quality management in product development is dealt with.
