This paper introduces the main theories of mechanical product design,focused on the concept,content and advantages of Top-down design of satellite.The decomposition and transmission of design intention are described,and the skeleton model in Top-down design is defined.It is pointed out that the decomposition and transfer of the design intent is mainly realized through the skeleton model.On this basis,according to the structural characteristics of satellite,the aerospace product design based on the decomposition of design intention is divided into four main processes,namely,user requirement analysis,design intention decomposition,skeleton modeling and detailed structure design.The main design tasks for each process are described in detail,and the process of decomposition of design intention to product structure design parameters,the classification and modeling process of satellite skeleton model are discussed.The transfer content and transmission mode of the design intention in the same skeleton and the skeleton of the upper and lower levels are analyzed.The structural design of propulsion module is optimized.In addition,the main process specification of Top-down design of satellite are summarized,and the requirements of design iteration are put forward.Finally,the structure design of meteorological satellite platform as an example,the satellite Top-down design method and concept based on the design intention decomposition are applied in actual satellite design,which proved the effectiveness of the method.
