Research On The Healing Landscape Design In Chengdu Community Park

Urbanization has witnessed an unprecedented boom in recent years and hence followed by rising urban problems such as urban environmental pollution,residents’ sub-health.At the same time,China began to fully enter the aging society.Therefore,How to deal with these issues is of top priority under urban development.Over the past few years,China has increased the construction of various types of urban public green space in order to alleviate the disadvantages caused by urban development.As a public park with high accessibility to urban residents,community parks will inevitably bear the expectation of more and more urban residents for a comfortable environment and healthy life.Specifically,under the circumstance of China’s vigorous development and improvement of community park construction,it’s significant and necessary to untangle the intricate relationship between the potential of community parks,demands of urban residents and harmony of community.Based on studies related to community parks and healing landscape in global scale,we analyzed the development process and application of healing landscapes,as well as the feasibility of healing landscape applications in community parks.And we concluded healing landscape design system applied in community parks.Additionally,during July-August and October-Novenber in 2017,we used observation system to analyze the application of healing landscape in community parks,Chengdu,and also used interviews and questionnaire surveys to investigate residents’ satisfaction and preference about community park healing landscapes.Finally,we propose the key design elements of the four contents of community park healing landscape design and conduct case studies.The main conclusions are as followed:(1)Summarizing the functional attributes,key points of landscape design and landscape elements of community parks,we put forward a community park healing landscape design system based on the concept of community parks and the concept of healing landscape design.Specifically,it included obstacle-free system(Barrier-free ramps,roads,pavements,signs),healing landscape facilities(sports facilities,rest facilities,landscape items,health trails),healing landscape space(social healing space,participatory healing space,indoor healing space),Healing plant configuration(Healing plant configuration based on color therapy,aromatherapy and horticultural therapy).(2)I investigated and analyzed 16 representative community parks in Chengdu based on the contents of the community park healing landscape design system.Combined with the residents’ satisfaction data,we concluded that there is no enough importance to healing landscape in Chengdu community parks and also there is no effective and practical healing landscape system。However,there are great expectation for residents to healing landscape based on our survey data.(3)Summarized through the analysis of the current problems and to the community residents physical,psychological,and behavioral requirements under the understanding of combining literature research proposed the rehabilitation in the community park landscape design principles and design key points and technical measures.(1)In the aspect of the system,the safety and fairness of the healing landscape of community parks are guaranteed by the design points of barrier-free ramps,orchard road,paving and marking system.(2)In terms of healing landscape facilities,the rehabilitation design methods of leisure facilities,recreation facilities,landscape sketches and health footpaths were summarized.(3)Healing landscape space,depending on the use and space function,summarizes the social space,participatory healing space and interior space three rehabilitation design key points in the form of space;(4)Healing Plant Configuration:Based on researches on the efficacy of plant therapy,we concluded differential healing effect of plant color,odor and cultivated plants on human.(4)With the theme of “Community Healing Garden” as the design theme,we full y applied research results to accomplish a case study--the healing landscape design of Shiren Park in Chengdu.According to the community park healing landscape design system,as well as previous investigation and analysis of Shiren Park,the overall scheme is divided into five major healing landscape functions: entrance activity area,fitness and entertainment area,sensory experience area,healing activity area,and leisure recreation area.Besides,we conducted special designs in key parts to improve healing facilities and service functions.
