With the continuous advancement of the information age,people's demand for emotional and experiential products has also been continuously improved.The trend of modern products from a single sensory channel to a multi-dimensional sensory channel has become more apparent.Applying synaesthesia to the product design can enhance the emotional resonance between the user and the product,thus satisfying the user's emotional and experience needs.With the development of the research process of synaesthesia,the synaesthetic design has developed from the initial sensory experience focusing on sensory to the multi-sensory superimposed process experience and the reflective experience of image interoperability.Among them,especially image interoperability The research has received more and more attention from the industry.At present,there are a few researches on image interoperability,and there is no relevant theoretical research and design process and strategy.Therefore,the theoretical analysis of image interoperability is mainly carried out,and its application in product design is studied now.This paper firstly analyzes the theory of synaesthesia and synaesthesia design,and studies the three typess of synaesthesia.It is clear that image interoperability is the highest level of synaesthesia,and it is the sublimation of sensory shift and multi-sensory superposition.In-depth analysis of image interoperability in synaesthesia is carried out to clarify the meanings and mutual relations of "intention","sense" and "image" in image intercommunication.Also the basic model of mutual transformation is proposed.Secondly,the three levels of "intention" in the image interoperability are proposed: "expression","sentiment","speech" and analyzed by researching the image interoperability in the design of synaesthesia,the combination of case studies and the basic model of the conversion method.Then,the paper focuses on the elements and strategies of image interoperability in the application of product design practice on the basis of the above research.It analyzes the cognitive process of users in the synaesthesia interoperability products and the design process analysis of thedesigners in the products of image interoperability.It also uses the method of perceptual engineering to design and evaluate.The design process of image interoperanility in product design can be summarized,which provides theoretical basis and design ideas for the research of design practice.Finally,the paper uses guzheng which is the Chinese traditional instrument as an example to carry out the innovative design practice of synaesthesia imagery and verify itself with regard of the design process and corresponding strategies of the common image interoperability.This study expounds the basic theory of synaesthesia design,and focuses on the image interoperability.It proposes the design process in which the image interoperability centers on the definition of "meaning"-design of "sense"-presentation of "image" in the product design.It also carry out the design practice of guzheng.It also verifies the feasibility and effectiveness of the imagery interoperability in the product design process.This research further promotes the breadth and depth of theoretical and practical research of synaesthesia design.
