Research On Synesthetic Semantic Program And Its Application In Product Design

With the rapid development of economy and culture,the society has entered experiential economy era when people are increasingly pursuing spiritual culture,and unprecedented attention has been received by users’perceptual demand.In the field of product design,products with a single feeling can no longer meet the perceptual demand of users.So the users increasingly prefer the products which can interact with users and meet the perceptual demand of users.And researchers in design field pay more attention on these products.Synesthesia design combines people’s five senses and senses,and integrates the sensory experience in life into the product design through the association of brain.It can establish a bond of emotional"communication"between users and products,so as to make the products more vivid and pleasant,and increase the"emotional communication"between users and products^[1].Synesthetic semantic program is a stable symbolic language or representation which is formed by user’s relative stable sense shifting based on sense experience.It is also the communication bridge of communication between designers and users which help designers integrate feeling of user experience to make products can meet the emotional needs of the users and make user and product produce emotional resonance based on the form of synaesthesia.The study firstly sorts out the theories related to synesthetic design and product semantic program through literature research.On this basis,it clarifies the basic conception of synesthetic semantic program and proposes the trigger elements of synesthetic semantic program in product design.Secondly,the thesis studies the related user research based on concepts of synesthetic semantic programs,and puts forward three construction strategies of synesthetic semantic programs based on typical case studies.Then,the thesis analyzes the coding and decoding process of the product by the designer and the user in the synesthetic design.It establishes the model of the synesthetic semantic program and summarizes the product design process based on the synesthetic semantic program,and carries out the synesthetic design practice with the guzheng as the carrier.Finally,the study verifies the design practice by the method of investigation and semantic difference,so as to verify the rationality and effectiveness of synesthetic semantic programming strategy and design process.The thesis tests and verifies the feasibility and justifiability of synesthetic semantic program applied in product design,and summarizes its application mode.It will promote the research about synesthetic semantic program in breadth and depth,and also provide reference for the related synesthetic research in the future.
