Urban pedestrian space is an important part of urban public space and is closely related to urban roads. The traffic noise accounts for more than 60% of the urban acoustic environment, which is an important factor influencing the pedestrian space of the city.It is very urgent to clarify the influence of traffic noise in the pedestrian space and optimize the quality of its sound environment. The research summarizes the research methods and practical cases in the EU sound planning project “SONORUS”.From the perspective of sound planning, the specific research on the sidewalk space, the pedestrian plaza and the residential pedestrian space is carried out.The research results are as follows:(1)For the urban sidewalk space,it is proved that the influence of intersection spacing on traffic noise is closely related to the traffic condition of vertical roads.Research and development of a noise prediction system based on microscopic traffic simulation, virtual addition of vertical roads to change intersection spacing and traffic volume, and multi-scene dynamic noise simulation comparison. The study found that if traffic organization and management are not considered, the traffic volume of vertical roads will increase, and the spacing of intersections will increase the equivalent A sound level and peak value, and the highest value will exist, and the background noise value will be reduced. The study provides theoretical basis and effective research tools for sidewalk spatial planning.(2)For the urban pedestrian square, the spatial variation law of the acoustic environment perception with the attenuation of traffic sound is clarified. The study selected Lingan Road Pedestrian Square, invited 62 participants to conduct on-site evaluation, obtained 372 questionnaires, and adopted the semantic subdivision method to obtain the acoustic environment perception dimension. The study found that the distance from the road increases:the sense of pleasure and the sense of the event are two stable perceptions of the acoustic environment, and the correlation between traffic and natural sound is high in the high-noise zone, weak in the low-noise zone, and human voice.Basically unchanged;and the correlation between noise annoyance and pleasure is gradually reduced, and the sense of event isbasically unchanged.Research can provide a theoretical basis for public space planning and landscape design.(3)For the Residential pedestrian space, the path and difference of the perception of the acoustic environment are determined. The study selected two typical residential areas in China, namely “community mode” and “block mode” for noise measurement, and invited 32 participants to conduct laboratory listening evaluation.A total of 448 questionnaires were obtained to establish a structural equation model.Different from previous studies, the background noise of “block mode” has no correlation with subjective evaluation;the acoustic model of “community mode” is only related to the evaluation of traffic sound, indicating that its spatial vitality is insufficient;the path analysis finds that regardless of the planning mode of the settlement,it is pleasant. The sense is only affected by traffic and human voice, and has the greatest impact on sound comfort. The residential area planning should take the soundscape construction into consideration;multi-group analysis shows that the “block mode” traffic sound has a significantly higher impact on the event than the “community”.Mode, but the internal vitality of the settlement is improved, and the sound comfort is also improved.Research can provide a theoretical basis for settlement planning. This paper hopes to break through the limitations of traditional noise control and control and prevent traffic noise from the perspective of planning and soundscape. The research is of great significance to clarify the traffic noise optimization strategy of urban pedestrian space and construct a good public space acoustic environment.
