Research On Subjective Evaluation Of Soundscape Elements Quantification For Urban Park Soundscape

In modern society, the research and design on urban park is developing so fast, and it always focuses on visual factors more than aural ones. The idea of soundscape design opened up a new space for it.First of all, this paper shows the modeling of soundscape and application of some thoughts about it from our classical gardening arts and ancient poems, which has been used for a long time.Secondly, the main acoustic environment status has been known by the investigation and interviews of some urban parks. And it is concluded that people prefer natural sounds such as birdsong and sound of running water, rather than artificial sounds like the sound of broadcasting and traffic. Birdsong is considered as the most delightful and harmonious sound of all. Through the evaluation on delightful and harmonious sense, the close relationship between them has been known.Depending on the results of investigation and interviews on sound elements in urban parks, some references could be provided for the design of urban park soundscape. With sound elements it's necessary for urban park soundscape design to design and planning roundly on sound environment of design object spaces. Not only the design and planning about sound are emphasized, but also the feeling, understanding, experience and evaluation. The value and significance of sound could also be paid more attention. Some suggestions could be provided through the design methods in this paper.Finally, the corn content of the whole paper is the experiment on subjective evaluation of soundscape elements quantification.The main innovation point is the experiment. According to the subjective evaluation on the different soundscape elements and their sound levels, we found the ones adapting to the corresponding urban park landscape. And then the technical base could be given for the planning and design of urban park soundscape. In the experiment what we chose as examples contained the scene without background sound, the street park with traffic sound as background sound, the coastal park with the sound of sea wave touching the beach as background sound, and the comprehensive park with running water sound as the background sound. At last, according to the statistical analysis of the evaluation datum, it is concluded that the soundscape elements and their sound levels adapting to the corresponding urban park soundscape have been drawn. And it is hoped to provide technical references for the design of urban park soundscape.
