Natural disaster in towns occurred frequently and caused more serious losses in China in the last decades.Therefore,it is increasingly important to construct integrated disaster prevention space for sustainable development of cities in China.The community-the most basic living unit,has been established self-contained complete mitigation planning system in China,however,there are some drawbacks in this system in contrast to that in some developed countries such as Japan,America and European Unions.In this study,quantitative analysis and multi-hazard risk analysis were considered in order to develop a superior disaster prevention space for the community disaster mitigation,and main results were shown as follows:The disaster prevention space could be analyzed from three parts,namely,macroscopic,middlescopic and microscopic disaster prevention space systems.The macroscopic included site selection,site scale,and site service scope.The middlescopic included shelter space system,fire-extinguishing system,medical space system,etc.The microscopic included vegetative cover,pavement and disaster prevention facilities.The main and minor affecting factors for disaster prevention space of community were evaluated using analytic hierarchy process.The weight coefficient of different factors was confirmed subsequently,and the theoretical framework of disaster prevention space of community was established finally.Through the case of Shangjing community of Shenyang City,Liaoning province,the disaster prevention space system was further assessed via on-the-spot investigation and model calculation.The result showed that the risk assessment system could match the real scene very well.This study aimed at establishing an integrated disaster prevention space system of community,and to guide disaster prevention and alleviation in cities to a maximal extent.The result would be very meaningful to community safety and city development.
