Reseach On The Vital Space Mode Of Urban Street Corridor Based On The Concept Of Complete Street

Most of our streets are built into streets that give priority to the use of motor vehicles.Under the idea of motor-based street design and planning,urban streets are becoming car streets,losing the function as important communication space of cities,and neglecting human needs in planning.As a result,various urban problems have been brought about,and comfort and safety of walking have also been seriously threatened.Recently,with the pursuit of healthy lifestyle increasing,people need more suitable environment to walk and ride.In addition,streets will be more convenient and safe for communication,which bring energy of block.In this context,starting with the concept of complete street and introducing the concept of urban vital street corridor,author explores the space mode based behavior of people.The vital street corridor is the space foundation for complete street.Author explains the concept and its space mode,design goals and principles,and design elements three parts.Finally,the connotation,characteristics and design goals of complete street are presented.What is complete street,the importance and design means of implementing the complete street are described.In case study,the principle of selecting the object is determined,that is,the vital living street corridor with various modes of transportation.Taking the two central street corridors of Pingshan Village in Shenzhen as an example,the corridors A and B are divided into different spatial types according to the size of the activity space.There are four types of space in the corridor A,and there are three types in the corridor B.From the user's point of view,the focus is the use of street space by different users and the activities of street space.Author thoughts street space usage includes the current use of street space for people,vehicles and non-motor vehicles,the characteristics of street corridor space and the space environment,activities including mobility activities and staying activities.This paper proposes a space environment improvement proposal from the perspective of spatial characteristics,focusing on the intersection of street corridors A,B and two street corridors.From the research results,the spatial characteristics,behavioral rules and needs,and optimization principles of street corridors A and B are summarized.From the side interface,the bottom interface,and the whole space,suggestions and optimization schemes for improving the spatial elements are proposed.Author analyzes different space mode,research spaces and activities of street corridors with different modes of transportation,and summarizes how to organize people,vehicles,non-motor vehicles and space environment facilities,in order to supply some references for later researches of living street space from theprespective of complete street.
